New Racing battery I can place central in the car between some cage bars.

Also picked up some CarbonFibre door cards, sorry about the pics as it's hard to take photo of.

They are complete shaped sheets really but better optiuon for me as I can now relocate the door handle into them where I like.

Not being happy with the manifolds available from Jenvey or Burton I have had one made to my spec, I have been lucky enough to be building a nice engine for a gent who uses CNC machines and he was willing to help in making them seeing as I will also bolt on onto his nice Forged engine.

Heres some pic's he's sent me over! DTH and angled pefect degrees to the intake.

Thanks lads, should have the inlet finished in next week or so, it's on of the main things on the engine that's been bugging me as I really wasn't happy with the ones avaiable.

It's 38ah and more than capable battery, also I have trickle charged it a couple of times but just doesn't take anything, its charge never drops.

looking good kev get a de buring tool around the edges though to get rid of the swarf and sharp edges, you'd have thought by now the cnc's would do the de burring but hey ho, been a while since ive used a cnc brings back memories, Good work mate

Cheers mate, you can see how the manifold allows for perfect flow now into the inlet ports.

All other inlets available for the RS are designed on the carb inlets and sit diaganal to the head, not the best for t/b's.

This is one trial fitted to Kierons engine, another forged 2.3 I built.





The engle is prefect and the room in the bay is great.

New years resolution is to have this car runing this year.

So with two free hours I had today I popped up unit and got some started! Back up on axel stands and all runing gear to be dropped off so bay can be worked on and other stuff.

Did the works ones use a inlet like that so straight for the head?

I really fancy building one of these, got a works f2maxi head and exhaust manifold at work could do one reasonably as a track day engine for the escort when saff is done!

if you look in Matmans thread mate on his Maxi build you'll see the works cars used sliders bodies and topped out at 45mm iirc, can't remember theyre angle but will see it on Matts car.

I dont think you should build one and then you can sell me your TLE Manifold lol

Ha! I'm pondering about it, maybe when I've stopped spending on the cossie, a turbo'd 2.3 is really tickling my fancy though, I think it would make some serious power!

Theres a sweedish lad on Turbosport building a 2.3 for 500+ bhp.

My mate Tonys is 300+ with ease also, me van will have a budget 200+ one in it

If I did a turbo it would have be over 500, do some top speeds, drag racing etc one day!

Got to get the engine mounts fitted this month then dummy fit a block and empty gear box to check all mounts.

Sort my cams and solid lifters out in Feb and build the engine up then bolts it in strate away!

Get dash board chopped and fitted, makes facia or me RaceTech to sit in, purchase a new Omex...

Could go on all night lol endless mate

Then started fitting my windows as fitted the rail that was broke.




then all front and rear runing gear off for finishing work - alloy rear beams and set up front AP's.





also started stripping ATL tank as got all alloy to mount it on now so needs refurbing and also decided to keep it red!!!




be back up there next weekend doing more and also purchased a few new items today, will update when it all arrives!!
