UPDATE lol
I got lots of new stuff for L2 and I'll try get more pics tomorrow but maybe busy finishing Jaffa's car with any luck!
Tuck a trip up to Leeds (300 mile round trip and Ł60 fuel lol) today to see Andy @ ALDevelopments to collect my head he's done for R&D, gota say LOVE IT! not telling you ports sizes as it's a secret lad's lol
But, ported polished and flowed head, great readings on flow. Uprated valve springs to cope with my larey cam's and solid lifters too! owh and bigger inlet valves!!! I'll let the pics talk to you lol
NOTE! not one crack in that head!!! awsome condition RS head.
Also got a prezzie off of Andy from his old track car, A.H.Fabrications alloy pot for the washer bottle water, it's coincidently matches my swirl pot too lol
More soon gents.

Cheers Al.
erm haven't a clue mate pmsl
would love to have the engine in and started on base map this year if possible. My new GrpA mount should be here soon as dropping some parts off to a lad name Matt at FordFair who's built his own wide track escort maxi to propper maxi spec and hopefully once there back and welded in the engine will be bolted together ready to go in.
also busy myself mate with lots of other engines, came across this as well at a bargain price.
Complte Mountune F2 engine, have given it to my best mate Sam for his Maxi build.

Not telling you lol
I placed head onto me block today and you can now take into concideration the size of my ports!
Also have myself some new adjustable cam sprockets.
Starting to look a little full in the car now also.
Still got some more trick bits to photo tomorrow as I am off work all week.
I was up there today finishing a customers car, I did a 2.3 conversion on and first start today, knackered.

Some more of the small parts I am now having to start collecting
Peco 480cc Injectors
Having to start rebuilding my oil cooler stuff as sold last year so firstly my remote oil filter locator, still to get a 13 row cooler and sandwich plate.
Managaed to get a new Ford window seal for my sindscreen.
Highdrolic hand brake and AP adjuster
New comp track rod ends...
I currently have what looks like an FSE valve in my fuel line supply, although it came off of a maxi I don't trust those units so have gotten a FUELAB one insted.

Not an update on mine but an update on one of my old shells I sorted my mate out with.
You may have seen the yellow shell in the back ground of mine for a while as it's my old Grp MK6 shell.
Well my mate Sam in the pic wants wide arches Maxi like you can see in Matmans new RS2000 thread on here so we got the kit sorted the weekend.
Obviously some work to be done lol but the Mountune Engine I had I am putting in this so a bloody good starting point I think.

Got some bits back today for L2 after lending them out to Mat for him to copy for his car.
Also a couple of new bits n bobs!
Splitter as dont know how one will look on L2 now so thought I'd try one out.
These for the back of L2, 300mm discs which run ST170 callipers
My Maxi mounts are back -
My Maxi Bias Peddal box is back -
And now have a Maxi bonnet vent!
Looks good sat on Tonys bonnet who gave me lift to collect parts, also I had the pleasure of driving it back from Cheshire to Birmingham on the 305 map lol that was fun!!!
More updates soon.

Wasn't tosure on a splitter as Maxi never had one lol but I think it'll look OK.
Not fitted obviously but you get the idea, also placed the new vent onto the bonnet, love that!

Cheers Andy mate, yeah the van hasn't taken over from this lol just that the van is on the drive and easy to piss about with.
Had to sleep on whether to buy the AP's as they wern't really needed but they were also a bargain.

I'd like 300+ bud, and very achievable from this engine.
I build these engine all the time for others now and know what theyre capable of, just built two fully forged and worked 2.3's and being rolling roaded before xmas, theyre going to give me an idea of what I can get from this 2.2

No, mines 2.2 stroker Jim.
I do have a couple of Mountune 2.0's one ran 240bhp and the other 280bhp but one of those is dead and the other is going my pal Sams F2 Maxi Kit Car.

When Harvey dynoed mine years back he said he has not seen many if any past 260 hp even the gp A ones he help develop with ford years ago . So if you recon your going to see 300 + put it on his dyno if its 300 plus i will pay for dyno time ;D
For the record mine was 2ltr with Cosworth pistons Farndon rods Harveys spec gravel cams sorted head st valves solid lifters , 45 throttle bodies Tony Law manifold this made 230 hp @ 8200 and 150ft . slow it was not !
Still got the full design drawing from CAD and i had the piston mapped @ Honda F1 so if you want to copy the Cosworth pistons let me know.

2.0L Head fully worked from ALD solid lifers and uprated springs, bigger valves.
New Mountune cam's, have three specs, tarmac, gravel and hill climb but may use own spec once I've got resultsback on there spec as they are older generation now.
Ajustable cam pullies.
2.3 Block bored to 90.02mm
2.2 Cosworth stroker pistons 13;1 c/r
Arrow rods
L&B Knife edge ALD crank also have steel, will see which is better.
TLE Manifold as repladed my 4-1 for equal length.
Now 52mm ITB's
DTH inlet CNC'd for my engine.
Maxi baffled sump but will replace the dry sump I sold once up and running and see performance.
More I am probably missing.

Mines not 2.0, but if you'll pay for my dyno time I'd be happy for you to do that.

quite an impressive spec mate. what are the sizes for the primarys and exhaust system diameter. pm if you dont wanna post on here. be interesting to see what it does. are you dynoing it or mapping in car? what ecu?
#713
Will PM you the sizes bud, there in a book in me unit atm so when Ive got um.
It was built completed by ALDevelopments and I gave him a Maxi head also at the time and compared the flows, maxi head are pretty much near standard in relation to port sizing.
Going Omex600, hopefully will get it end of the month, keeping it Omex as I have the RaceTech2 dash which is paired to it through loom.
And thanks bud

Fair enough, you will be doing VERY well to see 300, but I don't think it will be far off, when the works ones dad done for fransoir delacour (sp) were seeing 280 from 2.0l, if your head is good, cams are specced well I don't see why with the extra capacity you would be up there, I'd love to see it on our dyno for a back to back comparison to the maxi ones and get some proper figures from it!

Looking great!
The individual throttle bodies on a 3 liter Cosworth 4 cylinder (Bullfrog Project engine)
were sized at 60mm each. This engine made 405 HP at 8200 rpm normally aspirated.
This was a few years ago
Nice engines to work on - cylinder head was good for 10,000 rpm, but the lower half was only good for 8500
Cheers

Here are a couple of pictures:
The cylinder head, pistons, connecting rods, crankshafts, inlets all were Cosworth items.
Also the ECU was Cosworth.
These engines were developed for the IMSA GTP series in the USA - Pontiac a GM division contracted Cosworth for the development. The only Pontiac item used was the heavy duty race block.
The cylinder head castings are beautiful - no port work required.
All ports were hand finished as delivered.
