well..... after ages of not touching the car as decide to do some work work lol i thought its time i done something to it. got up sunday and cut hole in bulkhead slats behind sound deadening with clarke and we welded in a plate to take the cable linkage, gearstick ready for bolting in.
then i thought i see some potential dieting so out came the sound deadening, i was proper impressed with its condition
then i spotted this behind a scabby bit of paint
.
i plan on welding this at the weekend poss along with cutting the top of the pedal box off to tie into bulkhead to support the steering column to allow a hydryaulic pedal box.
clarke doing a test drive so he can compare it with less wieght lol
clarke slacking lol:
now have my clutch on order from the states a svt stage 5 paddle.

tbh mate if you'ew just putting the 1.8 in id stick with the cvh ib5 gearbox and fit the efi flywheel and clutch. i made my own mounts yes, if you use a cvh engine mount and mod it a little bit that will see the block in the car as for alternator i used escort cvh turbo/xr3 etc one, changed the pulley, measured belt and matched size up.

well as you know the column needs unbolting to get the box out so it was out but forgot it cuts across so when i went to bolt it up.... it didnt have the space lol. i shall be getting a pedal box from tony, chopping the lower section off my pedal box to make the room the reinforcing mine into bulkhead to support column again.

yes mate, a NA zetec should be fine, shouldnt have the power to do damage, a 200bhp rst runs it as your only looking to push 115 bhp poss 130bhp id use this

mk3 escort zetec turbo 29.9.09 (update 1 for today)
well..... poped down to garage yesterday as thought my finger needed pulling out although i couldnt really be bothered to do much lol. i cleaned up the mount and painted it at last, removed the old master (direct of pedal, great for people removing servo for pleniums) welded hole in floor although havnt pic of this yet. my billet flywheel and stage 5 st170 clutch has now arrived too . so i stripped the guts from my old pedal box out and shall refit that in a little while if i get off my lazy arse, then clean up weld to passenger footwell and i'll spray that and weld up the 2 holes made in the bulkhead for the hydraulic clutch lines that didnt work in the end

well..... just spent another bit of time in the garage (then got bored again) lol.
i started off with a bit of welding, welded the hole i found in the floor
abit of rust next to it was scraped back and 1st coat of rust treatment applied
welded the holes made for hydraulic pedal box that didnt work in the end
drilled holes for linkage ready for bolting up
rubbed down, another coat of paint and laquered

a couple more photos would be great please, although i now think i have it sussed. Today after my shop for bits i started the mount, i had a 6mm plate i cut to fit the recess where you welded the nut, drilled large hole, welded a nut into it then seam welded the plate to the floor, cut a plate for the other side and drilled out holes. started the bolt on part, welded that up, drilled 3 bolt boles out welded a tube through them, then it got too dark . 2mo i plan bith a bit of luck to finish it . cheers for help guys

decided to kind of do a bit of work on the escort today....losing enthusiasm now tbh as dont get the time. My pedal box arrived from tony so assembled that
soon to realise that being universal i needed to mod the accelerator pedal for my cable lol.
then fitted into the car
I pretty much came to a hault then as coule have done with the engine dropped down to work on brake lines and reservoirs etc of which i really couldnt be bothered tbh so i left it there. I'd just like to thank Tony (nuts r us) for his time taken to try different pedal boxes in his car to find the best suited for me, cheers again
