We had a break tonight and got our cars ready for the rolling road tommorow. we will be back on it over the weekend!

7 DAYS till race day What are we doing hahaha

 

We both had a day off today as we joined a few members at TOTD which was a laugh

After a journey over to Leicester we both got back on with the car at around 10pm !

We are now trying to get all the small jobs done and so far it feels like were getting there.

Well we got a few more bits done tonight, it may not look as if we did but its the smaller bits that take there time !

We started to mount the bits inside the car, fitted new brake lines (as we had spares ) cleaned up the inner arches and stripped a few other bits down that we needed.

With any luck we will have the fuel and nitrous fuel lines done tomorrow then we can plumb all that in and fit the seat.

Plenty of small things can be removed, its already very light though, weight in the right place is the key which I think we have probably got near enough sorted now

I what you used to fill the mounts i always use stickerflex

Top project, am just doing a 16v conversion into a nova. Who on Ebay was selling the mount kits? Do you have there Ebay id? Cheers

go to http://www.valvers.com for the conversion mounts.

the conversion into a nova isnt that hard if u have a bit of sense and knowledge.

if ur starting with a gte or gsi nova its even easier.
get inner cv's for a mk2 cav and swop them onto your shafts.

all the info is on mig web, just do a search.

and to wire it up its less than 10 cables.

maybe 2 novas and put the engine bay from 1 in the back of the other.

couple of weekends with a welder and might end up working. lol

doubt i'd ever get a colour as good as that though.

Well another update ! only a few days till its first outing

The mounts were filled with a resin that is used on underground cables, it has a small amount of flex but they are basically solid, the guy who done them for me runs the same setup on his 300hp Astra and he has never since broke any mounts which he did regulary.

Tonights work went well, possibly worked a little later than I expected but things needed doing so we got stuck in !

Whilst I was at a gig last night Gav sourced the water hoses and got all those sorted, the fuel tank was fitted and the manifold was fitted.

I spent most of tonight wiring, we ended up fitting the seat as I was pissed off with sitting on the seat bars !

Lastly we had the cosworth pump modified to accept screw on fittings, the filter was also done to elliminate teh need for jubilee clips

 

I love how small the fuel tank is

How far rougly would you get on it, any idea?

 

Its a 2 gallon tank, I have seen 100 miles from £10 out of a xe before but I would want to be carrying a spare gallon if you pushed your luck

Will be perfect for what we need though

Fooking car !

Oh well, one more hard night fo work and its finished.

Doors, bumper and wings are now back on, a bit more wiring has been done and the braided nitrous line fitted.

We made a list of things to do tomorrow night which should keep us busy for a while.

Without doubt needs some sort of exhaust sorting if its to be used on the road !

Well its done !

Just finished about an hour ago after a very long evening !

Sadly we haven't driven it yet but we'll do some off gas runs to see that its all ok, the wideband is in already so we can monitor what is happening on the gas !

Got pics but sadly no time to post them as off to have the tracking done in 30 mins then going straight off to the pod.
