Yes it is Ali Fab, Pete who makes the tanks only lives down the road so we popped in last night and got that tank.

He's superb with a tigset and is also making loads of alloy mk2 escort bits which is good for me !

this is EXACTLY, to the last nut and bolt, what i would LOVE to do when i get a house with some land/a garage etc

cheap/free nova, completely gut/lighten it, valver it with laughing gas.

weld in a length of scaffolding bar (vertically) to replace the rear springs...the arse wont squat much then, i'll tell ya! LOL

Ryan- Oh yes ! possibly a little more to come yet although were seriously in need of putting it together asap.

Paint finish will be erm interesting

Oh well, certainly going to be a lot of fun.

ForeverWhite- I'm going to try a set of those bars myself but I have been told they made my mates handle a bit strange.

Standard springs with koni adjustables locked out should be fine though tbh

No mate, a friend of ours did, He's a Carpenter by trade

Should of had a go tbh but don't want to wreck it at this stage !

It would of needed a week on prepwork alone to get it looking right so we just thought fook it and put it in primer, however it looks painted will be miles better than it was 10 days ago when we picked it up

We did consider cutting it out but tbh we just never bothered.

The car is now painted, we have a sneaky suspicion that Stevie Wonder mixed the paint up as its not quite the same shade as it came with

I'm not quite sure the pic above makes it look so flat but trust me its not lol

Well done to Gav and Ady for doing the paintwork, its not something I have ever done before and I'm only any good with a can Just the doors need doing and the bonnet (once we have picked it up) then all the painwork is done

By tomorrow evening it should have an engine back in it although we do need a clutch from somewhere !

when the whole well bottom and sides were pressed from the same panel as the boot floor, and is stiffer then a flat panel, which would hence need to be thicker, or reinforced, what makes you think it would be lighter (hint, its not)

We never thought the colour would look "right", It was free and even cheap ass rattle cans cost money

The finish is far from perfect but who cares, its a laugh and its not got holes everywhere anymore

Anyway more updates !

The engine is now in, just everything else to do now !

Time to wire it tomorrow ! oh what joy

You can buy the mounting kit for the c20xe/let engine on ebay for nova/corsa/tigra etc for as little as £36.99 for our car! on the corsa you need an extra mount so i think its about £70.Shafts are up to you, best to buy a set of big hubs and shafts for approx £150 for peace of mind, Jonny or i will help you along the way as will doing searches on migweb/vauxsport/corsasport for conversion threads! also on ebay for 99p is a fitting guide i dont know how good this is but for 99p its worth the risk of it being useless any probs just ask
