Right the time has come for my 3dr to go to martin hadland / REYLAND to be set up and have a fult found that is doing my head in so all being well it should be in in the week or so and then we can at last see wot it will male on the rollers this time round

 

sum car mate have you got anyother plans for it and just keeping it the way you have it now

 

 

I have made the phone call today to martin / REYLAND and we have had a chat about some of the problems with the car . Iv just got to wait for martin to send me a tex to say when to bring the car to him as he has a bit of work on at the mo . And at the end of the day im in no rush i just wont it to be right and thats why its going to REYLAND very soon

 

I gave the old girl a wash tonight as i have been using it over the winter trying to sort it out and it seam iv got some small jobs to do under there soon but its not to bad one good weekends work should sort it out

Iv had sme good news today my car will be in with martin / REYLAND to be sorted on the 14th april . so the list will start soon to see wot martin finds rong with it and wot BHP it will make when he sets it up.

Tell me about it mate

 

Well as some of you might know, about 3 weeks back i gave up on my 3dr and booked it into REYLAND which it goes in on tusday. Well i was down at a brakers yard today sorting some stuff for my focos build when a focus came in to be broke! Well i just could not help myself i just had to have the coil pack off it for Ł10 . When i got home i thought i would just see if it was this that was making the car back fire all the time so on it went and i went for a spin. It was 100% spot on so i fort time for the boost to go up a bit and as the tools were out. We put all covers back on and down the road we went... well it was as bad as ever . Back fireing like mad so we turned the boost down.... still the same shit so i thought to myself what have you done to it now to what it was like 30min before? To which i said we have put the covers on that covers the coil pack and leads! So off they came and the coil pack was put inside the motor bay and the leads were just hanging all over the motor. Off i went down the road .... Spot on ,so the boost went up a bit still ok ,the boost up a bit more still ok ,so it went up to 28psi and its still spot on!!! It turns out its the leads being so tight togever as the coil pack was beside the heater motor out of sight but very tight. Its now by the battery and running spot on. This back fire problem has been doing my head in for about 5 months now so to say im very happy is a understatement as the list of stuff i have swapped on the car is silly and runs into hundreds of pounds. So it will be nice for it to go to REYLAND and be running nice before martin starts work on it! We will just have see what martin can do with the car now

Right iv been and filled up the tanks tonight as im working away this week in bracknell so my very good mate REX is going to take the car in to REYLAND for me on tusday so it will be there for when martin comes into work on wednesday to work his magic on the car .

sorry iv not done a update on my 3dr as the truth is iv not done much to it as of late just love driving it . well i did a small bit on it today i tuck this old thing of the motor today .



and again sorry i forgot to take a photo befor i put it on but is wot went back in its place



now its just a case un nipping the locknut and spinning the shaft as it has a left and a right rose junt it cost me about Ł15 and im very happy with the out come

EBAY . I had to cut the one side down to get the lenth right / the right hand fead side then i re drilled it and re taped it job done

right iv been at it again with a nice new bit of kit supplied by 34CHASSIS / Mark top mate well here is wot iv been doing

FIRST JOB OFF WITH THE CAM COVER



THEN A SMALL BIT OF WORK ON MY LATHE



THEN GET THE NEW PARTS OUT



THEN FIT THE CAM TRIGER INTO THE CAM



THEN ONTO THE MILLER TO DO THE ROCKER COVER



THE COVER AND TRIGER KIT ALL FITTED ON THE CAR



THEN FOR A PART I MADE MY SELF



AND NOW FITTED IN ITS NEW HOME



The car is now running and has been on the road and i must say im very happy with it as the car runs a lot smother when driving i must say a Big THANKS to 34CHASSIS / Mark .

did you put a bearing into the old dizzy drive on the bit you made ?

 

Yes fella as soon as it started to rain i closeed your bonnet!!!

you can make me a alternator tenstion bar thing , n while your at it a dizzy blanking plug n do the machineing for the cam trigger
