(COLEYST200)-My 3DR Rebuild (06/05/13) motor coming out
#441
Heres a small update of what went on yesterday afternoon. We all met up and took a 4 mile drive to The Old Irish Harp pub on the way to brownhills and met up with a bunch of lads off FordTorque.co.uk. They had there monthly meet on the car park so beings as though it was a scorching day for a change we headed up there to find that Performance Ford magazine were making an appearance on the day to shoot some pics of the cars!
Anyway, the variety of cars that turned up were exceptional ranging from Sierra Cosworths to Fiestas and Mondeo's to sleepers so all in all ok .
A chap came over with his camera and said we need some shots of your car if you don't mind which was fine, then his colleague said, "you do know we have named your car, car of the meet?" Bloody hell!!
So off the guy went, snapping away with his camera.....
All of a sudden he said, " i shouldn't be taking pictures of this for car of the meet. it deserves to have a full feature in the mag for all the hard work thats gone into it!"
Well, what a praise! It really came home to think that people out there respect the work thats gone into it and the end result.
As a reward i was given a 'Meguires' pack for car of the meet and went home proud as punch having had a great afternoon out in the Cos........
Cheers everyone........

Little update.....
Got 5 minutes to myself the other day and thought id pop down the local shop for 2 blocks of aluminium.
Why you may be thinking?
Well looking at the engine, the water pump and power steering pulleys seemed out of place against all the new parts fitted so i took it up on myself to machine new pulleys out of the billets of aluminium as i used to be a tool maker by trade, thought id have a crack.
Anyway after a couple of hours this was the end result of the water pump pulley....
Before...
After...
As you can see in the pictures its a slight difference
Then i had a brew and started on the power steering pump.
Before...
After...
Heres a few randoms i took...
Will get some pics up of them on the car possibly over the weekend as it has a big sheet over it at the minute due to it been valeted ready for the wedding on the weekend.
Seen here....
Hopefully by next week i may be putting an order in for a new turbo and a few more bits if my plan comes together
UPDATES SOON

Coleys gone and done it!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well everyone, he done the deed yesterday. Finally he married Tracey at walsall registery office and what a great day it was!
The weather held out all morning till after lunch which was a bonus so none of us got wet!!
Had a very good turn out and things went to plan no problems.
Had a meal at the Westfield Court Hotel in Sutton Coldfield which i'd highly recommend to anyone then had a get together on the night with everyone, friends, family etc, had a DJ and also a buffet.
Here's a couple of pics of the day.......
And not forgetting the other love of my life.......
To finish off the great weekend i managed to sell my mondeo st200 which has left me with abit of spare cash for the coz.
A quick trip to Matt Lewis Motorsport and an exchange of dollar, a few more parts have been ordered up.
Will let you know what when it arrives.
DON'T TELL THE WIFE!!!!!!

Here's a little teaser of what turned up today....
Replacement centre air vent surround to house the oil pressure, oil temp and boost gauges...... good stuff
Should compliment the standard dials, didn't want 'in your face ones' like white.
Watch out BIG UPDATES THIS WEEKEND.......

Ok as promised a slightly bigger update than predicted.
I managed to sell my st200 mondeo as its just been sat around in the way for nearly a year which released some funds to spend on the 3dr .
After having a break up the lake district i had abit of money to burn in my pocket and decided to order a few bits and bobs.
In the mean time having ordered various parts i decided to use my skills again in the garage lol.....
1 off-cut of aluminium..........
Spent a couple of hours pissing about and churned out this bit of kit.....
You may think, what is that for??? Well its just basically a housing to house the probe which measures the temperature of the water from the engine. This registers on the gauge i bought for the water temp.........
Towards the end of the week, various parts were delivered to the door including..........
Nice new pipes...
A very nice Radiator....
A very nice shiney new by pass pipe which bolts to the Rad as the standard one was well rusty.....
A couple of uprated slimline fans....
A bit of a shiney Turbo damper plus new shiney bolts...
A slightly bigger turbo (T34)...
And some new oil + filter....
Think that was it lol, anyway with all these bits taking up room in the kitchen, Saturday morning came, up bright and early to get to work fitting the bits. First up was the Rad and fans, not a hard job really but the standard Rad was on its last legs.........
The old one.........
A bit shitty i know...... but with how the rest of the car looks it had to go, to be replaced with this....
What a difference.......
Heres how it looks on the car.......
Next up was the bit that cost the most, the turbo.... Took the old one off to find loads of play in it and full of oil. Heres the difference..........
Looking good with the new one on
Obviously fitted various piping around the bay but heres a before shot with old turbo and pipes.........
To roughly how it stands now....
Forgot to mention......... heres that part i made fitted.......
After not long just getting in from spending the weekend on her, the car had an oil change and a run round the block.
:shoc ked: WHAT A DIFFERENCE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Power delivery is instant, the general smoothness is A1, it finally dosen't smoke when you pull up at junctions, i could go on but to say im pleased is an understatment.
Really worth spending the money on it. Just needs a clean now lol.
Got a few more pipes to come in the week to compliment the bay and it shouldn't be far off from done!
After all this you may find another bit of an update next weekend
