1'st thing. love your car. thinking of fitting bigger rad and intercooler and will need to cut a lot of the front out. have you stiffend up the front of your car in any way? And does it go through a MOT ok? Cheers.

My car still passes it MOTs no problem. The front of the car doesnt have any additional strength.

I will be attending plenty of Knockhills this year. But just one or two Crails, I have a new quarter mile car that I am building.

Not giving up on the Escort, its just going to become more focused in becoming a track car.
It was slightly compromised for quarter mile stuff so I now have the oppetunity to build something else, but will continue with Escort RS turbo.

I have been a bit busy at work to divert much if any time to my demo car.

But this weekend I went to the Performance Ford day at Crail raceway.

My best time of the day was 12.65 at 122mph (60ft of 2.2sec)

I am well pleased with that, as my tyres are 3 year old R888s

Simon

Cheers Ade,
Thanks for the pics.

The Escort is partly stripped, weighs in at 925kg. No dash, carpets, door cards, or rear seats. It still has all glass and standard Recaros.

haha so i was 0.01 out from the time i told you? lol

It's impressive how "no nonsense" your car is off the line! Nearly all other cars looked like they were driving on ice for the 1st 10 yards!

nice to meet you again and see you soon with the fiesta

Yeh good too talk to you too, you are taller than I remembered. Are you still growing???

Traction - I just try and drive away without wheelspin and only give it full power from 3rd gear, was on the rev limiter(7300rpm) crossing the finish line in 5th

Santa Pod 31st of May. Quality strip to use during a really good busy show..... would be the ideal day to get into the 11s

Last time on the dyno it showed 380bhp before it lost traction. I now have a different cam fitted and revised rocker ratio to help control the GT30.

So the answear is somewhere near 380 + or - ???

You are correct about the power.

The best bit is the ERST is not suppose to be a quarter mile car! it should be be a track car?

(Sorry for my english...)

Thank you!

Hi, the box is a MT285 Getrag 6 speed.

Use the CVH mount on the back of engine block, and weld a mount under the passenger foot well for the torque reaction mount.

There are several guys on here that have done the conversion also, you may want to see what they have done.

Simon.
