First gear feels normal (not short) cant recal any gear/speed data!
The shafts in the picture are my first set which I never ran because I uprated to a set of Dave Mac shafts. Ł550
ST head was good, but best left alone (ie no porting)
I have sold my 16V head so now undergoing a ZVH conversion.
Pics and info coming very soon.

The car will remain the same except the head, inlet manifold and exhaust manifold.
I will be attending as many as possable. But as I am days away from moving into a brand new spec built unit! I am not going to be able to devote much time to it! but will try.

I have no idea why it is such a mission to make a RS Turbo go fast, a Tigra with a fair bit of cash thrown at it rolls up at Brunters and pulls 179mph on its first attempt ! I don't know of many that can match that, for now but I can think of several let engined vauxhalls that can breeze 160+ at brunters and still run low 12's on the 1/4 and sub 5 to 60mph.
Best of luck with it Simon, it certainly looked like it was capable at Brunters in feb so I'm sure you know what your doing will work

yip as johnny says the vauxhall lot are dominating at the moment, its sooo easy to throw a let in to a corsa or nova, strip it then run stupidly quick quarters.
Where as the rst lot (myself included) spend fooking thousands and end up with a bloody 14 sec car lol its shite

You are all correct in the fact that I am taking a step back in peak air flow through the head. But you should consider other facters!
I have made a volumetric copy of the mountune inlet which I intend to put into production (made one so far) so the mountune one will go up for sale.
Just mapping the ZVH at the moment.

NO Reason at all why a 16v engine shouldn't deliver the goods, you don't see Rod or Martin downgrading to 8v's to go faster.

did you ever get the 16v on a dyno or rolling road, if so what did it do.
Im curious as I recall Fast Ford claimed 500bhp for it, if it did not reach this what do you believe was the reason.
What are you expecting power wise from the ZVH ?

I think its time for an update.
Well sold the Zetec head. Time to go to ZVH power!
The new head consists of a Newman cam, solid followers, 1mm oversize valves, double valve springs, vernier pully and a shed load of porting.
The block is still the same one from before.
I have also changed back to a FMIC due to doing more track days.
I am also running a new plenum that I made, its a copy of a Nissan Pulsar. It goes really well.
I was running at Ford Fair last weekend, conclusion - Fast

Not been on a dyno yet, but it is a bit slower.
The only comparable figures I have is
Old Zetec on 21psi did 150mph in 0.53 miles
New ZVH on 21psi did 142mph in 0.62miles
Both have ran 13.1 on the quarter mile
It feels about 75bhp down with all the rest of the engine, turbo and install been the same. But the ZVH cam is a quite a bit milder.
Wheel are indeed fitted for their lightweightness

Here are some shots of my front mount exhaust.
This is a shot looking in behind the bumper next to the wheel.
This is from the same angle but looking past the chassis leg.
This is a shot from the front of the car looking under the splitter, you can also just make out the end of the screemer pipe.
This is a shot ot the inside of the chassis leg.
Not the very clear but you get the idea!
Just as a foot note I had to get a short alti belt to move the alti as close to the engine as I could. I also had to trim the FARB mount to clear the exhaust and not forgetting to cut and sleave a big hole through the chassis leg.
