I now purchased a set of Genuine PTS Bilteins front's (except inserts, as i already have bilsteins inserts)
i bought these as my current compbrake bodies, wouldnt let me lower the car enough, without bottoming out.
and as you can see the bodies are around 30mm shorter, so solvers my problem

magnum motosport, the bonnet flaps though
after sending back my adj microphone as it was faulty, i bought a different version, a condensor Mic, so been out playing tonight, tryting to find the best location for the mic
here is a small vid of it sat in near the wiper motor,
do you think it's to much engine noise?
also like the new camera location? it's sat in the aerial bolt hole
Small video

did a track day at colerne (24 july 2010)
first time on an airfield track, TBA i like this one, not boring at all and the track was smooth, and could really push the car to
it's limit's (and a bit more if you wanted)
i got black flagged around 3pm and the guy said they had been monitoring my car all day and it was getting louder and louder
they were fine and i said it wasnt the exhaust as thats 88Db (their test from the day) and it was my induction so i gaffa taped
the filter a bit and changed gear around 6500 instead of 7000+ (you see a white scooby on the last vid, i was actually faster, but as i was short shifting
he had the edge, i was gutted.....lol
here are some Vid's and pictures from the day
colerne Vid1
colerne Vid2
colerne Vid3
colerne Vid4
colerne Vid5a
colerne Vid5b

Great work.
Great car!!
Superb project!
At the moment I'm building up a 205 GTI race car too and struggling with the suspension.
Have you had to modify the body to fit the 309 rear beam and front wishbone?
Which suspension are you using now? PTS coilovers in front and Bilstein B46-1038 at rear?
If PTS in front: are that the coilovers from 306 Gr.N available at Peugeot Sport Onlineshop?
Thanks for your help.

thanks for the comments
been a while since i updated this, it has a few new things, so will update once sorted
the 309 beams fits straight on, all thats need it the rear mounts just turn 180 degrees and then it will bolt up fine
i've fitted a 24mm ARB to the 309 beam
309 wishbones are a direct fit, ideally you need to run 309 driveshafts too (some dont have been fine)
i run full pts tarmac bilsteins and 300lb springs, they are not the 306 one's
i didnt buy from that website but they would be the same as the 205/309 one's
think the inserts are 300/200
and yes my rears as as you say

YES YES YES.....time for updates then
Thanks for the tip with 309 rear beam mounting!
And another question became answered as well: will the rear dampers from 205 fit with a 309 rear beam. Yes...it will
Allright...perhaps I'll find a rear beam in good condition
Where did you buy the PTS tarmac Bilstein?
Unfortunately from Bilstein Motorsport there is only a 260/120 and 280/150 damper available.
Just for information:
Gr.N B46-1038 = 345/207
Gr.A B46-2313 = 460/250.
The 300lbs springs are...heavy.
A mate told me to use springs around 180-220lbs.
Seems to be better for rally use?!?
But I guess (and thanks to German TÜV) the only way to build a road legal car is to use a Bilstein Gr. N damper (V36-0547/-548) with a street spring (Eibach or H&R).
BTW: is your car running with the standard Pug ECU?

300lbs springs are ok i'm tempted to go stiffer,
185 is for rallying or road use, not hard enough for tarmac
i bought my pts tubes from a mate, but the inserts can be bought from various places like shenpar, a b motorsport, compbrake
thannks for the info on rear dampers, i might source the GR A onenext then
with the std setup gti6 engine it was on std ecu
on the ITb's it was running DTA s40

I called Bilstein on yesterday and got some new information about the Grp. A coilover settings:
Front = 300/140
Rear = 350/200
Metered at 0,26m/s
Front plunger (? right word ?) is 20mm shorter and the screw thread 15mm longer than Grp.N shock (547/548).
Part. No.:
Front: K4-VE3-62381M0 (right) and K4-VE3-62380M0 (left)
Rear: F4-B46-2313-H0
As I would like to go for the Grp.A coilovers, could you tell me which spring length you use?
The Grp.A will be delivered without a spring and I'm not sure which length I should buy.
Thanks!
