Just ordered my new carbon Kevlar boot lid, doors and a roof spoiler to try. At least I can dry build up the door and boot furniture. I expect they will need a bit of body shop magic to fit well enough.

Yes, I was a little worried that if the front is chopped out the engine would always be dirty from Road grime. To be fair when you see how much of the rear will be gone there won't be a lot that isn't cage apart from what keeps you dry.
I will see if Mark has a way to weigh my shell as it stands, I could certainly easily pick up both ends without any strain.

Well the quote made me gulp a bit but we have decided to really go for it on the car, I will add pics of the spec as it builds up but as a hint we are taking out the bulkhead completely and cutting out the old floor and tunnel right to the place where the back seats would have been, then the boot will be cut for a new fuel cell and the big WRC arches / Turrets and cradle mounts. The bulkhead will be moved back a bit to allow more space in the bay and for the engine to move back a bit.

Have you thought about going double A arms on the rear suspension? When you're making these huge changes anyway I suppose it would be nice to go for the best possible. The McPherson struts at the rear are better than the semi-trailing arm setup, but it can still be quite a bit better.

It will run 4 Coilovers all the same, all round.
The 6 degree beam is coming out and Smiley has bought it
I have to have a mind on what the car could ever break up for or sell for, by using stuff that can bolt in to an Escos or Sierra I have the option of re-shell if I stack it or want a change OR a big Ford market to sell all the bits in to as they will all bolt straight in.

Whilst I am doing the wiring loom I have ordered an antigravity battery as it weighs in at 4kg (this is the biggest one they do, some are 2kg) yet has 1000 cranking amps and a voltage cut off so if you have left your lights on or leave car and battery drains it switches off automatically, you then press a button and know for certain that the car will still start. It is fine with high output alternators and is sealed so you can mount it anywhere. My friends runs them in his GT3 Rs x, Cayman R and 911 Clubsport and has never had any issues....they almost feel fake to pick up.

Was somewhere, few year back now, wish the car had been finished but im happy with my high spec Escos, my love for modifying was ruined with the 106 build and would never do it again, once my escos if finished in next couple of month thats it for me......

My projects whilst the pug is away are a new bird table made out of my old roll cage and try to get the 20v turbo in to my 944 then return the underside of my TT as it's a bit scabby on the steel suspension parts.

Look, 1 finger and full arms length. 1000 cranking amps and 4 times the life of a normal battery. It has a little computer in there so if you leave the car sitting or leave the lights on it will turn off and then you press a button and it will have kept enough power to always start the car. Sealed and as it isn’t lifepo4 it is safe and works with normal alternator. Not cheap but 3kg is sooo light.

I am missing my 205 already and its only been a week! So I made a bird table out of the old roll cage, luckily it fits a rotary line holder so I cemented that in the ground and that way I can lift it out to cut the grass.
We were fed up with the wooden one falling over in the wind. I might powder coat it brown next time I put some wheels in for refurb.

It's not much to look at as it stands, not a lot left of it and what there is will be chopped out. Mark said he turned it in to a skip yesterday.

Continued with the wiring and the more I did the more it made sense to make a whole new loom throughout in thin wall and matched the original colours and wire ratings, the old loom had quite a few crusty earths and as the car always had a battery drain I am confident that will have been fixed. I will post up a pic of the loom working off the car. The only challenge was getting hazards to work with the indicators and no cros contamination but have that sorted now.

Today I ordered the t16 roof spoiler which was moulded from an original t16 so I can try that, I will offer it up to my 1.9gti to get some opinions whilst the car is away.
Still toying with the idea of a white interior with matte agent to dull reflections so I can have the choice of a Pts (pug Talbot sport) white racing wrap on the car.

If anyone can photoshop that on to a red car and swap the red bits for white, that would be cool.

I'd love to add the big light pods but I think they might block the rad and intercooler too much.
