Fiesta XR2i Zetec Turbo Project...Engine stripping underway!
*As new things arrive ill update this 1ST post so you dont have to go looking through pages for pics etc.*
This is my MK3 Fiesta XR2i 1.8 16v. Picked her up 22/10/06
There's a few things that i wanna change on it straight away like the rear lights, the drum colour and the wheels for the spare alloys.
Interior's in great condition!
Got a full set of spare alloys with it as well with excellent tread on all TSW Webs in 15"s
Picked her up for a bargain £500 and best thing is i didn't pay for it Mum and dad decided they wanted to buy me a project car
*Im a nice son i've decided to pay them for the present before starting the crazy spending on engine componants.*
UPDATE
Just bought this on Ebay.Im not normally a fan of sparkly things but its so pretty i had to.
Then i went bidding mad and got carried away.
Won this... Its a 3mm thick clear persphex pulley cover so you can still protect the belt but also view the condition of it without having to remove anything.
Here is the 2litre silver top engine as I got it home. Will clean and paint it soon no doubt but im thinking ill do all the oil return feeds first.
Heres the DONATED Fiesta turbo inlet (also have the head as Darren was being a lazy c*** so im storing it for him.) *THANKS TO RS MAYSA*
Heres a polished Plug cover and polished cam cover bolts ready for the new engine.
SO so far I have accumulated a few sets of wheels,a head and inlet,my 2litre engine and a few good bits for when its time to make the engine look pretty lol
Pictures some bits ill got so far.Not sure if i like the lights yet.
*Cat isn't a purchase from ebay*
Here are the Tarox 6 pot brakes with 280mm grooved disks.
[/img]
BTW the brakes are tested on the badly buckled alloy with a crack in the lip but i have 6 of these alloys so NO WORRIES lol
Got the some new wheels. In pretty good condition for rallye wheels.Only scone scuffs no major kerbing or chips. The pic is the worst one of the 4 i have.
Im thinking im going to get them cheaply refurbed and sell them on though due to a offset of ET57 and them being WRC stud fitment and not standard ford studs. The studs are futher apart...Something i didnt realise at first.
Either that or get pcd spacer changers made up but i never feel good about using spacers.
Oh and heres my Rover Turbo Inlet with Ian Howell Conversion plate and throttle body adaption.Going to get it powercoated eventurally. It may not be "a thing of beauty" but it will do the job very well indeed
Inside the inlet *Needs a damn good clean lol*

lookin good mate!
Im doing the same thing to my mk4 escort. What turbo you running? Are you gonna use a decompression plate to lower the compression or you using forged pistons etc?
Only 1 thing, the inlet you have is either an XR2i or XR3i inlet. Doesnt matter really it will still work.
Here is the difference, this is your inlet,
A fiesta turbo inlet has the idle control valve on the side, shown here,

geordieboy Probably going to run a T3 turbo and decent spec forged low comp pistons.I dont live far from Ian Howell which is good news!
Nice info on the inlet btw.Looks like its just missing the idle control valve to me though? This came off my friends spare FRST engine.Hense why i have the head aswell lol he couldnt be bothered to strip it.
Money is tight at the mo and time to work on the car is even more limited.Eventurally when my garage is emptied ill have more time as all ive been doing since moved house is getting the house sorted and sheds up in the garden etc.
P33VVE OOoooh yes mate For people that wouldnt know *that would be 99.9% of you* Im about to recieve a nice set of 6 pot Tarox brakes for the project
Big thanks to Peewee (nice to see my car in your siggy aswell mate )
Marky q The black rear lights will be going eventually lol Bought them then decided nah dont like that.Wont suit a mk3 i dont think.Eventually maybe tomoz ill take pics of the rear,A pic of standard and those.See what you guys thinks best.I think black on red wont mix.
My wheels are going to be refurbed in gunmetal btw.Whites been done too many times.
This is the guy i bought the pully cover off of.Nice bloke...He has a 2litre zetec in an Escort on throttle bodies.lol He probably visits this site.
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ESCORT-FIESTA-...QQcmdZViewItem
This is a site he made... www.16vzetec.com
Email him and ask if CVH covers are a possiblity

Im gonna keep them until they are refurbished and fitted with new rubber...Then ill see what they do when fitted.
I seem to remember something the guy said about smaller bolts on his sierra cossie Group N car? Does that sound right to you guys as ive looked at the bolt holes and they do indeed look a tad small but could just be my vision playing games lol
Gonna have to get a wheel off and have a look when i have time.

Should be recieving my Rover turbo inlet soon as was posted by seller today.Going to need a conversion plate made up.
Anyone got one to sell? Or know about people that can make them?
Ian says he is abit busy at the moment *understandable* but tbh he's the only person i trust to make them.

UPDATE
Met up with Ian Howell and had a long chat about this and that.Ended up walking away with a set of Focus RS pistons and rods.
Left him with the jobs of making up my Rover turbo inlet conversion plates and modifying the inlet to clear the brake servo.
I bought a large stack of tools recently aswell so im up for any job now haha all i need is my garage to be cleared
