thought i would post up pics and updates on my project
was looking for a wee van for running around all the spare parts i sell and buy for my other projects.
i bought it off ebay for 310 pounds about 4 months ago and drove it all the way from outside london to birmingham for a 5 a side comp and then took all the team back up north ,totally reliable but a bit scabby so i decided to give it a few mods and a blow over
here it is after i bought it

it came with the 88 spec bumper already on it pity it wasnt a 90 spec one
my plans were to fit a 90 spec bumper i got for a tenner ,fit some 7 spoke alloys i had lying around and fit the clear indicators i got with the van .
but like everything else i got out of control ,i have since bought a turbo bonnet for 40 pounds and a complete mk4 van with e/w,c/l/e/m and a full 90 spec interior for 67 pounds off ebay for spares ,i also had to get a drivers door which i can tell you was quite hard until i found one in my local scrap yard in aberdeen .

got a set of these 3 door cosworth wheels with tyres for 100 pounds ,front tyres need replaced but i still have good tyres on the 7 spokes ,i have also enquired and sourced a set of rear lowered leaf springs for 135 posted ,not sure if thats a bargain second hand as i havent enquired about price but the lad said they were 300+ to make ,so they seem like a good deal not sure what to do with the fronts yet going to look at a set of adjustable shocks and springs at the weekend for 50 pounds ,does anyone know what nuts to use with the cossy wheels on the escort hubs there seems to be some of the collers on the alloys missing ,think they are the same as 16v xr2i alloys which i nicked them from and have nearly the set

wasnt happy with the gap on the drivers side wing so i replaced it along with both doors passenger one off the spare van and the one from the local scrappys for 15 pounds ,i removed all THREE locks from the rear as i will fit a orion c/l motor i have lying around so it will look smooth at the rear i will leave the door handle though.
