Default My new daily - back in a Ford!! :)

Just thought I'd stick a few pics up of my new daily runabout!!

I got offered this Focus ST170 by a very good mate of mine as he'd just bought his wife a new Fiesta Zetec S and he is having her old Honda Civic so had no use for the Focus so as I was getting bored of my Golf (I think I'm getting too old for old cars that are slammed to floor with big wheels!! ) and wanting something a bit more grown up, I jumped at it!

It's only got 73k miles on it, full service history, 3 previous owners etc.

I was working for a Ford dealer when these came out and tbh I didnt think much of them, thought they were slow as fook. After driving mine and realising that you really have to work it to get the best from it, it's actually a good, fun little car!!

It's got a couple of bits of bodywork that needs attention which I'll get sorted, the biting point on the clutch is a little high but it doesn't slip so that's a job for as and when it becomes a necessity and because he used to put his dog on the back seat (dog passed away a few weeks ago ), the seats were a bit grubby. No major issues!!

Anyway, enough of the waffle, some pics.

What the back seats looked like before I cleaned them (base is cleaned, backrest before cleaning).

A couple of dents on the N/S doors which I've booked a paintless dent company to come and sort out next Wednesday.

A couple of scratches on the O/S which I'm hoping my mate can mop out for me (might be difficult to see in pics).

Need to get the front bumper painted.

Going to have the wheels refurbed too.

Overall I'm very pleased with it, sure it's got a few bits that need seeing too but I didn't pay much for it so I don't mind spending a few quid getting it nice. If I'm honest, it's probably the best car I've owned to date!

Shame it hasn't got off to good start though, only had it 2 days and the drivers door mirror has already been broken by some twat in van that didn't realise how wide his van is!!!

Never mind, onwards and upwards!!!

Looks good Gaz! I'll be interested to see how the dents come. I've tried rubbing a few dents out an it ain't the easiest job!

Cheers for the comments folks!!

gjh - I've started modding already!! Well, if you can call fitting my Alpine head unit modding!!

Tbh I'm not really tempted to start modding it, maybe a panel filter and a remap maybe to get shot of an annoying flat spot that these apparently suffer with but that's it. I've heard that the Bluefin is crap though, don't know who else does them.

Glenn_ - They are slow in some situations as they really need to be thrashed to get the best out of them but once they're going, they aren't bad!!

Don't get me wrong, they're never gonna set the world on fire but they're good fun!!

My one had a sluggish spot but then I installed the bluefin it smoothed it right out and gave me better fuel economy too, nice to see another 170 in the area

Ive had two st170s and loved them both. They do move when you get the revs up and on a country road the are fun. Tuning potential for them was the only crap thing you could spends ŁŁŁŁ for not much gain. Enjoy it I've moved onto the big brother st225

your not wrong there as with a bluefin, sportscat, densos, splitfires and SS exhaust I managed 177, and I was told that was good as no ST170 is 170 as standard more like ST155

Great motors but a touch thirsty from memory.
We used to have an almost full carpark of these in ford when they first came out but most went back after the first year cos they were a bit juicy.
Nice solid drive though, handle good, stop well but need a little more oomph in my eyes.

Nice car! I got my Ford F-150 from BJ Auto Sales. It's an old car. I ended up getting a used car during my search because used cars do not lose value as fast as new automobiles do.
