i agree there are diff levels of sleeper,ranging from totally unassuming bog standard looking car to standard cars with big intercoolers sticking out front making u think twice about it.i love looking at cars n think 'what a pile of shi ......... here are some of my old turbo technics powered fiesta
it had a 1.6 turbo technics cvh in it with full xr2 running gear and brakes with a s2 gearbox, it went really well and suprised loads of people, when i first built it i had it on 13" rs 7 spoke wheels but changed to the rs turbo ones because i was going to fit bigger brakes but sold it before i fitted them![Sad](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_sad.gif)

Oh its not a road car. Right. Thats why its on askmid and taxed then? Id also be very interested to see the wording of a traders policy that allows cars to be driven that have undeclared engine size changes. No worries though, Ill just believe you.
I guess you must cover all the others here that havent bothered updating the dvla either.
It still amazes me that this goes on today, where people will just shoehorn another engine in a car, and as long as they report it to the insurers (hopefully they at least do that), they think its legal.

heres my 2,i built the 2 door saloon,chipped and cam'd 2.0 16v,the 2nd i bought,2.5 v6 180 bhp v6 engine.both very fast and upset a lot of jap stuff,even bikes found it hard to keep up with the v6 on thetwisty roads!

I love sleepers!
And there are some belters in this thread it has to be said.
I've wanted to build a sleeper for a while now. I'm a diesel head though, so mine would have to drink the DERV. I quite fancy the idea of a plain MK3 5-door Fiesta running an Escort/Mondeo 1.8 Turbo Diesel engine, one of the pre-endura intercooled ones which spat out 90PS. I used to have a MK6 escort with said engine and it went like a rocket (well, for a diesel anyway!). A couple of tweaks of the fuelling and turbo and it'd be a mighty fast Fiesta I'd say.

volvo was running about 190 odd bhp,they can be tuned but your best bet is to get on www.turbobricks.com and check out first as there are lots of different specs on engines and management,some are easier to tune than others.the engine can be taken as far as cossie engines with top cars running 1000bhp or more.to fit the engine in that bay you need to either use the block mounted dizzy from a non turbo engine,or cut a hole in the bulkhead to allow room for the rear head mounted dizzy.
