barn find pug 205 gti
just picked this up today
dont know if it really counts as a barn find but anyway
1990 205 gti 1900

been sat at the back of the previous owners garage for 9 years
needs a fuel pump relay(frigged it with a wire to check it started)
and an exhaust
paint is faded and in need of a good buff but tge good bits are is a solid non sunroof shell which i belive are getting hard to come by now and the interior is not far off mint
took some pics but ill get some more when ive washed it
dunno what i plan to do with it yet, ill prob get it running and flog it like i normally do but wanted another one of these for a while so we''ll see

As above depends on what you paid for it as to whether or not it's it's a bargain.....i bought a mint grey 1.9 2 years ago year for £750 but it was mint and had 12 months mot!

They are worth the money these days, my mate had an old one, no tax or mot, been sat under a tree for ages, with sun roof, in a common colour and not even that cleen and it went for over £1000

Am quite into my pugs, and owned a fair few 205's and a 309 gti, every single one has "a race cam and ported head"
My 309 actually did, because i put them on, still only did 130 bhp. lol

watch out for a for sale ad as soon as its running, need to get real and clear some space, bit gutted but cant have everything in life

For the money you paid for it and the money you'll need to spend to make into a proper peach it won't be much of a money maker imo, pity you don't want to keep it as it'd be a good base to start from for sure!

if i have to ill sell the other toys and stick it in back of garage, ill get it running and see how i get on

I had a 309 GTI in miami blue. Top car, handling was unreal.......could put it into any corner at any speed and it would go round as if on rails. It handled better than my Clio Williams and my R5 GT Turbo.
They are fantastic cars with the Mi-16 engine in, with throttle bodies on aswell they are the nuts!
