He was killed whilst flying a Hunter, their was apparently a fault which caused the plane to crash. Like anything though we have always felt there was more to it than we were told but we'll never really know the truth.
I'll do upload a few more pics tonight, we must seriously have thousands but not all of them will interest people.

Can you cash a cheque?
Very sorry indeed to hear this Johnny, even after such a long time the cruel blade of bereavement never seems to dull.
Johnny, I know of a forum that would really appreciate seeing your superb photographs as well, probably in the historic section would be best.

Great pics.
My Dad worked on all sorts of interesting test planes in different countries over the years, I know he has loads of cool pics like these. One day when I have 3 years spare I need to ask him to show me some
Good post Johnny, never saw it first time

As for the link I'll check that out, just of downstairs to surf through one of his albums for some of the pictures to upload and I'll most probably put them on there.

Scanned in a few more. Found a whole load of old ones from a Airshow in the 80's which has loads of Lightnings, the new Tornado ( as it was back then ) and some Vulcan bombers, not got around to scanning those in yet but can do if it interests anyone.

If you take a look on there you will see I've had a reply from someone that knew my dad.
I'm quite blown away but the whole thing really.
I'll get some more pics scanned over the weekend

Yes Johnny I saw, only too pleased to be of assistance, in fact I may very well know someone who knew your Dad as well, he was instructing out there on Strike masters at about the same time, only problem is he's one of those chaps I see very little of these days, but rest assured, I will enquire on your behalf should our paths cross.
Best,
Melbury.

Sorry to hear about your Dad
Always liked the hunter but never knew the Jaguar was that old! I remember the news when the RAF retired it but until i looked it up didn't know that had done nearly 40yrs. Few year back use to be in the cadets and we use to go and look after a old one in someones farm oddly so loved them since then.
