Heres a few pics from what was an amazing, Wyedean rally which featured around 180 cars, top weather and very slippery stages. The only thing that wasnt amazing was me as I failed to notice that I was shooting in static focus for landscapes etc, and not constant, what a *bleep*

Think my edit would go along the lines of:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/41963775@N07/5446024419/
nice set, the one with the water going down the hole would make an excellent long exposure if yo had a ND filter strong enough to allow it.

Nice edit Stephen! PP is something I need to learn more about. I have done very little atm and only have Photoshop Elements 7.

I have done a HDR (not my thing) shot for a comp on another site which has the water marks on would you either of you be able to take them off for me if I email the pic??

ND filters are something I want to look at, I'm going down to Cornwall in the summer and will be taking my camera with me so would be nice to have some filters in my bag! Do you use any yourself?

Thanks.

Filter wise I use a circular polarising alot, then got a 10stop ND which is great for very long exposures in bright sun (havent used it for a while that reminds me), then the usual grads to help on landscapes. If Im honest though, other than the CPL I dont really use them that much as I can get the desired effect in PP without having the hassle of mounting filters, keeping them spotless etc.
You can email the file over or send the originals that the HDR was made from
bsmotorsport2005@hotmail.co.uk

Been fair, your pics from that set dont really need much PP anyway, just thought that shot would benefit from a bit of lightening in the shadows. The others would benefit from a rotate to get the horizon level but other than that theyre pretty on the money anyway.

Cool, I'll send an email over tonight when I get back home.

Yea I noticed my horizons were on the piss, this is something I'd rather try and get right while I'm out rather than in PP.

Cheers, good to have a bit of good feedback espc as this is my first proper time out with the camera (only got it in Jan and the lens last weekend) so good to hear I'm doing something right lol

Just sent you an email.

Do you circular filters or slot in ones? I wouldn't mind giving them a go as PP isn't a strong point of mine but they're expensive!!!

Rob, Ive done the pic. My circular polariser is round and screws on to the lens. The rest are slot in ones (cokin P) as the various adaptor rings allows me to use them across all my lenses where my CPL is 77mm so only fits my 10-20 and 70-200VR.

I also use a 10-20 and a 70-200 on my Pentax. Impressive improvement over the standard and cheaper lenses!

Had a punt at some HDR for a competition.

Had some help from StephenC on another pic, so thank you for that!

I have come up with this from one of the pics I took from my set above:

I went up Smeatharpe yesterday for the Kynaston Auto Services Stages which was good fun, with a mixed entry and slippery conditions. Its not the best venue for a photographer but still good to get out with the camera again

This scooby should have been pointing the other way!

Heavy over night rain meant that slurry had washed onto parts of the stages and apparently one of the first pace notes was "square right, caution cow s**t", I dont think ive ever heard one like that lol
