Excellent Matt, love the diagonal stripes of black and white in the first then the lead in of the fence, fantastic. DOF is spot on too. Very nice pictures for a family album, timeless if you know what i mean?

cheers stephen they were well received, got a few other things to pop up soon, but they're being saved for xmas presents so i'm keeping them off the web.

Not exactly new but i hadn't got around to uploading so forgot about it. I seem to have posted lots of B&W's lately, think i'm due some strong colour work when the snow comes.

^ cheers for the comments gents, cant take too much praise as a photo as the original was SHITE!!! Id had the camera best part of 6 weeks and hadnt a clue what I was doing 
the post-processing has saved this one (good old camera RAW!). Just to show how poor it really was, this is it out of the camera; no laughing please!!!

Thats one hell of a transformation, my photoshop skills involve adding a bit of contrast and correcting the usual tilt to the left

I've just bought the Sigma 70-200mm APO DG EX HSM f/2.8, absolutely love it!
First outing today for some bird pictures in the forest near me...

Nice shots Danny 
Heres one from me, went out with my brother and took my camera, Took a few of these but this was the best, No PP.
The blueness is from having the white balance set to 'flash', even though I didn't use it, was a mistake but come out well I think.

here are some new shot from me.
as an captain of an inland barge i see many nice places.
also the last time i went from rotterdam to dillingen.
dillingen is a little place near trier in germany near to the border with luxemburg. as i was sailing trough the mountains in the snow it was a chance to try to make some pic so here is a little selection of pic wich i think they came out the best.
all comment's welcome but bear with me..... i'm just a beginner

A friend of mine let me use his new Nikon D90
It's so nice to be using a nice camera again. I got in some nice night shots since it has a vibration reduction lens.

Balad is known for being Motarittaville Thanks to the bad guys trying to get us I now can produce these shots of some shrapnel. I couldn't bring it home so I thought I would photograph it. It is some kind of metal that when it breaks it is razor sharp. Definately don't want to get hit with any of this!!

99% of the time its fine but could we make sure that pics are kept to a reasonable size. The pics at the top of this page take ages to load on my uber slow broadband!
