A quick one from me...been looking and looking at this image from Chatsworth House for months, never really done anything with it even though at the time I thought it would make a nice shot, hence why I took it lol.
Played with HDR from 3 jpeg's of it and here's the result

Very subtle HDR, like that Daniel, im only on my laptop but the top half of the building looks noticably darker than the bottom, worth a quick bit of dodging maybe in PS?

Cheers Stephen ![Wink](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif)
My PC monitor isn't too good so maybe I didn't spot it as much, looking now it does look a little darker yes, possibly the join in the dark sky and lighter foreground part of the HDR.
Thanks for looking though bud

more good stuff matt, personally like the B&W group shots, very elegently put together. Love the wedding dress back with the shallow DOF. The 1st one above looks like a tilt shift lense
I trust they were chuffed to bits or have they not seen them yet???
edit to say, some of them pics on flickr are in the 70-200 VR pool, you been spending even more on equipment?!

Thanks again.

you can still tone map a single jpg image for reference.
stephen, it's very good, so damn sharp. It does vignette slightly but this can be controlled from within the camera and is not very bad anyway, personally i like the look for most shots. actually that shot above was with a D700, i just took my second shooters D700 as it had that lens on to save changing lenses in the field.
i think for me, the difference going to FF was day and night. high ISO is superb, hardly an indoor shot was below ISO3200 all day/night, and they still look so good.

would never have guessed youd been so high with the ISO
hmmmm, think its a letter to santa then, would love a D3 but cant justify it at all. I think the 700 would be just right for me, with my D200 if I go above iso of around 320+ its virtually unusable, noise is just horrible and even with noise ninja the results arent ideal. At 1600 its like an old TV with the aerial out of position!!!

lol, next to me D80 at iso800 my D3 is amazing at 3200, even very useable with the right exposure at 6400 (the d700 mirrors this performance)
the only reason i choose the D3 over a D700 and 70-200 was because of the second card slot (the battery had a little to do with it to but not nearly as much) I work with identical cards in and write to both cards, a god send when i covered a show for pvw and when transfering files to my ext hard drive it corrupted! hopefully it never happens with wedding work but i'm safe in the knowlege that i have it covered if it does.
just to add i've not treated any of the pictures from that wedding, or my brothers for noise. It reminds me of a film like grain and i quite like the look.

Yeah, the D3 is definately aimed at the pro market with features like that, if it saves your arse one day out of a 1000 its worth the money I guess.

That's ok, Photomatix will produce a semi hdr from different jpeg's, so make x3 from the one image (x1 darker, x1 normal, x1 lighter) then blend in Photomatix and it will produce...

Ok, so not brilliant but just goes to show from one jpeg you can rescue a fair bit and produce some decent shots

like the saph given it some beans
whats everyone watching in that corridor, looks like one of them viewing windows in the sex shops in Antwerp!!! (more likely a rolling road readout I should imagine). Good perspective on the focus too, keep them coming

Quick question for those who do motorsport photography, which metering type do you use? Ive never changed mine from average and was wondering if there was any advantages to changing it?

I use centre weighted personally because i want the car exposed well. thats my personal choice, i'd rather have a dark car well exposed than an averaged exposed scene and car too dark as a result.
someone else might choose differently though.

Good effort Sarah, can see a difference in the images already!
Did you follow the tutorial I gave you?
AllyC: I use centre weighted, as above really becuase detail is present even if an image is slightly darker, so you can gain that back with the right software and tweaking. If an image is over exposed (too bright) then detail is lost and can't be regained easily if at all...

Excellent will have to try it in the centre weighted mode. Ive been struggling with blown colours and whites in my last few rallys so hopefully this should solve it.
Cheers

Nice pics Andy, what gear are you using?
I took the S3 Pro out today for a play, not used it yet as it has to go away until xmas day lol, but managed to sneak a ttry up Cannock Chase, 5 mins from my house today. Hope you like.
The Fuji S3 Pro is awesome for Landscapes, the jpeg from camera is stunning colour. I will be keeping my Nikon D50 for Motorsports and this new S3 for Landscapes etc.
Actually, this was with the D50 and Sigma 70-300mm, oops![Wink](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif)
