ossie cossie, those trucks are cool the scoob based one looks like something out of mad max

well 5 of us were out today at drumclog in the west of scotland...light layer of snow....makes it fooking hard to guess whats under it pics....
my disco sunk in a bog...managed to recover it orselves within a few mins by sinking the ground anchor in and winching out

brown trouser moment sideways on a steep slope....

roy bursting some ice...again didnt realise as it was covered in snow you can do serious damage driving into ice

The only one out of our lot on a trailer was the red range rover in the pics, was being towed behind a defender 110 van, ...he left a bit earlier than the rest of us so could have been crossing the bridge around that time

Looks like hard work but good fun.
I was at Manby in November and it came down hard on us but wasn't deep. Ground was rock solid and a few of the more sorted trucks had been round and laid some tracks, was very slippery, as it thawed it all got very sticky.

Seen the 'clog mentioned on difflock but never seen any good pics of the site.

Amazed at how many on here are into 4x4's !
My 1st off roader looked like this when I bough it for £220 !

I fitted all sorts to it including Landrover rear leaf springs & RS1600i seats.

Nearly killed it doing this.

Sold it to make way for this.

I really miss the Shogun, it was slow, thirsty & geared to tall with 33" tyres on but it never ever let me down & I loved it.

Manby is only ten minits away from me, i used to go round it all the time when i had my old disco. It gets sticky there because it has loads of clay in there. Bastard when your tring to clean your truck though

Had many a good day with my old landy. had to get rid though because i bought a house and travel loads of miles 2 and from work.

Will get another though one day soon

probably a 90 truck cab

I'm there again this weekend with Lincs Off Road. Judging by the amount of water around it'll be really sticky!! Was a bastard to get off last time took nearly an hour of jetwashing the underside alone!

Should just get a cheap vit or sj for now though if you're that close to it.

I'm having a go at tyro in my Jimny this year for the crack!

na very rarley trailer them, touch wood its never needed recovered from a day out yet althogh i have driven home with some heavy body damage

all my mates trucks are same as mine fitted with heavy duty halfshafts,cv,s and locking diffs so drivetrain failures are rare although they get a proper caning every week

Going to bump this up, hows your 4x4's doing?

Bought myself a 300TDi Disco, going to collect it next weekend, its partly modded but will a few bits before I go out in it, namely some tyres, 30mm spacers, snorkel, MOT, Tax and insurance lol

Its already fitted with +2" lift, wider plastic arches, CAT1 Toad, EGR replacement, Modulars, tints etc etc

Cant wait!!!!

Mines doing really well

From buying it as a standard L200 in November last year I have done the following:

Body lift 1.5"
Suspension lift - 6" rear and 3" front
Converted rear springs to coils from leaves
bobtailed the tub (18" out of it)
33x10x15" Maxiss Bighorn Mud tyres on 15" wellar rims
12,000 lb front winch
Modified exhaust so it exits via the tub as "stacks"
Plastic arch extensions under the OEM extensions
Waffleboards for the tub tailgate

Next on the list is to bin off the Mitsubishi 4D56 engine and gearbox and replace with a 300TDI engine and R380 box along with Discovery front and rear axles - this gives a live axle up front instead of the silly torsion bar independant system.

I also want to get a snorkel for it too, but I can't justify £350 for a bit of plastic

A couple of snaps from various playdays

Nice

I'm looking at changing my maxxiss mudders for a set of Insa Turbo Special track in 33x10.5x15" flavour (but will be about 35" with the tread depth)

Also had to put the standard tub back on as I needed the load space

And the final thing to go wrong is the wheel bearings are shagged in my back axle - had to buy a second hand axle for £150 (then £40 for van hire!) as it was cheaper than £90 a bearing then £100 for fitting in a machine shop So with this I'll be going back to leaf springs at the rear too :/
