You lot are nuts!

the village next to me has 3 mk1 disco's parked outside the garage, green, white and blue ones. all kitted out for off roading. the were k and l regs but 2 now have Q plates

my uncle has a 200tdi disco on an l reg. wonder if he'll sell it cheap
Was at work the other day and had made up a full list of what to do and how it would look if i got it

going for a disco3 as its a good mix for on road and off road driving.
then turn it into a G4 replica

i used to love getting down and dirty when i lived in south wales before i emigrated to OZ, still have a 4X4 over here a 2001 nissan patrol but don,t get much time now with work and the like. here are a couple of pics of an older type patrol (road legal i may add) slightly EXTREME. The only drama here is that its hard to get them dirty (lots of sand in WA) but there are places you can go and get some mud.

the second pic is probably at a special stage sort of like a motokahna.

Dont know if people are interested but there is a 4x4 race meeting at Manby over the upcoming bank holiday weekend (24th - 26th)

Bit different to the usual pay and play or green laning if you just want to spectate.

Now that's offroading

The closest most 4x4's get to going offroad is when they are parked on the footpath while the dippy bint driver runs into the dry cleaners.

following on from this thread, and a the others courtesy of kevin sharp over the last few weeks i've just bought this.........

i'll try and get some better pics over the weekend, it's a 3.9 auto with 100k miles. runs and drives almost like a dream, few minor niggles with the autobox but think i've traced these, can't get the diff lock lever to move though, but reading here they sieze? had a look underneath on a rampand the chassis is sound! done about 100 miles in it and love it!

it's got yellow shocks with blue springs - no idea what they are - new discs, pads and all front end steering joints with change from £1k i'm well impressed!

Couple of quick snaps of the discos 1st outing

After that i decided bigger wheels an tyres were required
got these insa turbo special track tyres on black steel rims brand new for £400 not bad at all considering the amonut of rubber you get !!!

still managed to get it stuck though lol

Found the old disco to be fairly poor on fuel specially off road so got me self a small consinment of crisp & dry oil to keep costs down lol

Few pics taken from a winch challenge event we went to ...

I can tell you where your diff lock leaver is seized as mine was
Ok take out the centre console (you have to pull the pin on the handbrake to get it out ect)

Ones thats all out the way remove the pins that hold the linlage bars on that drop down to the TB then unbolt the 4 bolts (i think) and that will let you take the difflock leaver out,

Ones out you have to take it apart will take abit of betting but ones its apart clean it all up and pack it with grease put it togher the bar should slide over and pop out the end nice and easy

Whot other problems with the auto box you got and please dont say a clunk when you into Rev if so get the box changed before it loses all gears

Thats whot happened to mine had to get new oil cooler pipes the lot then broke the bloody oil pump in the box when i fitted it back in :$

So today i went and dropped it off to have it fixxed im not doing the bloody thing again

JAMES

heres some pics of the diff lock and high and low lever

Ok 1st remove the 2 rods that go on the end here

Then undo the 4 main bolts (the top 4 holes are for the rubber gater remove them to but last if you like)

Then remove the end bit will take alot of doing as thats were there seized up (end not in this bit i think there counter sunk screws in the end plate)

Use alot of WD40 ect and abit of sand paper to clean up the shaft and then put it back togther and pack it full of greese then fit the gater back over

Fuck spending thousands on your Heavy Land Rovers that keep getting stuck.........

What you need is £500 worth of Jap 1.3 POWER

My little SJ can go places that no landy will go.........and for the money it is SO SO much fun

Love the spec'd up landys though....im only messing. But i just wanted to have a go and i am, but proper cheap......

My Lad cleaning it for £3

Some others that we took out.....NONE of them cost over £500

Vitara is all jacked up now too....
