Not the mk1 disco, its the new disco 3.
1st vid shows other 4x4s trying to get up this hill. note the defender having a go at it.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S-zbq9AOvBU
poor guy with the red truck at the end

The end of this vid shows the disco3 trying the same hill as well.
Angle at the start is 43degs and goes to over 50 for a part
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=STt7DmJeeVc

offroading is superb!

Kev, there was a mk1 bobtailed disco with full external roll cage in LRM a few months ago, full feature on it. the guy was selling if for Ł17,500! ill go look for what month its in. might give you ideas/help
cool vids you found that feature yet?

Alan, Devon4x4 are selling those mach5 wheels for Ł115plus vat
each
Landrover monthly. august 2007 issue number 109!

the guy took 12 inches out of the chassis to make it. very smartly done.

hope that helps!

Rangerovers a a great Cheap way to have fun
But i think they dont have a Diff lock only High and Low stick But mine went alot of places in Low range as the diff lock on mine was siezed (the stick end)
Not 100% sure how the rangerover works without it having 4wd diff lock

alan..your not going to tow 2 tons of discovery on an unbraked a frame with a xantia are you? ..and you call me mad i,ll look out for you on police camera action

if the range rover doesent have "lock" on the high low lever it will have a viscous centre diff in the transfer box so works fine off road

Take one long steep slippy muddy hill in Scotland.

Than take a stop at the bottom (notice the green poking up)

Now you can see what is hiding at the bottom

Oh by the way there was a 30ft drop over the edge and a Disco headed its way

One kind of sorry Disco looking a bit worse for wear. Good thing it was someone elses motor!!!!!!

Theres no point pointing at it now you been down it....lol. Notice the marks above his hand three quarters the way up the hill but dont quite make it to the top. He got most of the way up and then went sledging back down.

Well after reading this post i have been today and bought a 200tdi discovery......

after looking for the last 2 weeks and many miles looking at disco's with no inner wings and boot floors i found one cheap as chips right next to me as it only has drive when in diff lock......and guess what.... it is solid as a rock just one little hole in the o/s inner wing.....boot floor and rear chassis is solid....

Think it has a knackered half shaft as there is a clunk from the o/s/f wheel...

That little hole in the o/s inner wing sounds like mine well untill i removed the platic linner and poked around abit And the same with the boot floor But easy repair tbh

All i need to sort is the Gearbox as i put the new one in and got NO Drive its completly locked so some things not gone back togher right
Hope yours is a easy fix
