Well Ginge we will have to agree to disagree. Sometimes you have to understand there is a life outside of passionford!!!! and that I am a car enthusiast. You think I am advertising with my logo in the sig............fair do's..................I don't. I wish to keep the logo so people identify who I am when I post, so that when I give advice they realise it is from a good source.

As another angle there is no difference to me mentioning NMS every time I post. The point is you can't ban a sig with a logo else you must ban all sigs that also have that logo.

I understand the technicalities. No trade advertisement for non paying traders. Thing is.....................I'm not posting as a trader you plum.

I have never seen any advertising for NMS on these forums. Basically what is being done here is the fact that Karl as a well known tuner - because of who he is, not what he has done nor what rules he supposedly broke, - he needs to pay up to have the same rights as any other regular visitor @ PF. There is no need to argue that statement, because he is being cencored because of his achivements within his line of work. Could he potentially gain customers if they see (and recognize) him whenever he is posting? Yeah, of course. But this even applies whenever he goes to Starbucks for a coffee. Why not just put a bag over the mans head? This has NOTHING to do with the mans signature! Every single person posting on these forums knows who Karl Norris is, and if they want to take their business to him then they'll take their business to him.
Do you really think you achieved anything by removing his sig? The only thing you did was to deprive a man of a right/choice (being the sig) that every single forum member on here has from the get-go.

And I think that's a rotten way of moderating.
Kinda the same strategy the mafia had.. If you lived on their turf, you'd have to pay up for "protection", if you didn't they'd make your life a living hell. The bottom line; it's extortion. Yep. Not on a grand scale, but still extortion. I think it will be a shame if you stop posting here though personally, but if there are going to be rules for traders they have to apply to all people in the trade or there is no point having the rules, and the mods are simply enforcing them without prejudice as far as I can see, and not "insulting you" as its not specific to you, its ALL traders.
