I have a few MP3's on my pc and the sound quality is pants.
Does anyone know a program that I can get hold of to adjust the levels on them? I want to be able to save them afterwars and if poss not to complex as I'm a beginner at this/

If the quality is poor its almost certainly due to the sample frequency of the music.
There's not much you can do as its exactly the same problem with low res pics. You just cant have a massive effect on the quality.

I think the original sample came off a casette you see. Thought there might be a programe where I could make it sound less muffled.

The best you can hope for I suspect would be to use a Graphic Equaliser and try to tune it to sound better.
You've probably got one on your computer already in the soundcard settings, failing that try somewhere like Download.com
Good Luck
