Cracking bike mate, but should have bought a green one (like mine that just passed it's MOT today).

I've had a few nice bikes, but got to the stage I only did small mileage so bought the present ZX9. I reckon value for money they are the best sports bike you can get. Plenty quick enough to keep up with the latest and greatest, perfectly comfy and easy for knee down scratching. Cheap insurance, cheap servicing, all round top jobbie. Don't be in a rush to buy a stubby canned 'moment' bike, the ZX9 will be 90% of the bike you need 90% of the time.

Having said that, bikes are not really about the head, more about the heart and I really miss my 996
