Default So did my first track/airfield day

What an absolute riot. Beautiful weather all day and absolutely perfect riding conditions.

Did it at RAF Odiham in Hampshire through the local bike club. I've only had my licence since October (but moved to Saudi in December, so not had that much chance to ride) so I was really apprehensive about riding the bike quickly among other people - I needn't have worried. I did a couple of sessions in the morning on my own to gain some trust in the bike and my abilities (to prove to myself it wasn't going to fall over or punt me off at the first corner) before enlisting the help of an instructor who showered me how to actually sit in the bike and what lines to look at taking around the circuit followed by some on-track tuition - WHAT a difference that made!

I then had 5 sessions in the afternoon to really enjoy being out on the bike and try to push it further and harder.

I would certainly recommend track time - with instruction - if you want to learn how to push your bike. My bike - a 'little sports tourer' SV650S proved to be FAR more capable than me and I'm looking forward to developing my own riding skills further knowing I'll be within the bike's capabilities.

Didn't get my knee down (wasn't expecting to on a first track outing) but did break in the toe sliders on my new boots and got some awesome pictures.
