Default WIP project mk1 fiesta

hi all
sorry about the delay for the pictures
i have started project mk1 fiesta today and got as far as converting the back but its still not finished as need to make the spacing right between the lights and the reg plate

anyways heres the pics so far
how i started out with all of the marks i needed to cut



other body shell ready incase i get it wrong lol

and the end cut off


bodyshell without back end and a little cut out underneath the pillars


added the end again to see what it would look like

and placed the boot on to show how much was cut off


then back stuck on with 2 part epoxy resin

and filler applyed

and sanded


inside looking origional

and 2nd layer of filler applyed


and sanded


and top view over the boot

then in primer so i can see any imperfections it has




let me know what you think and as i say its not finished yet

and the rear lights are going to be hard i think but i plan on modifiying the escort lights to look like fiesta lights

and it is fun to do but the only thing i find hard is cutting the back end up as the metal is so thick lol i had to go and get 2 new packs of hacksaw blades lol

i know how ya feel mate, i had to do tha when i was making my s2 estate, had to get the right rear lights fitted on it and the right boot, but the metal is well thick tho in it, took me 4 blades and ages, lol

well wouldent have taken me so much time if wheeler dealers wasnt on lol they were doing a sierra saphire cosworth today

if i do snap one the backup shell has rear lights so i will just take them off that one lol

that looks superb so far, gotta say its looking a bit more like a talbot sunbeam at tho mo tho!


for the rear lights get clear plasticard and clear tamiya paint

lol, the mk1 golf was a good 1, when it was finished u culd still c abit of rust above the bumper tho, lol, capri was a good 1 as well, shame bout the front wings on it, went abit matt colour when he sprayed them
how u gona do the front mate, r u using the front of the escort or making it from scratch.

My dads mate had one of those, when I was a kid.

Hopefully got one of those escos plastic shells on the way.

Cant wait to see some more progress on this.

how u gona do the front mate, r u using the front of the escort or making it from scratch
the only thing im using from the escort front is the bumper mount apart from that its going to be made from scrach as i need the extended grill and the square lights( which are also going to be made from the origionals )

surprised u dont buy a dremel to do the cutting.
but that looks good. i wonder i you could do it on a real mk3 escort and make a mk1 fiesta replica lol
