well i mucked about with vw splitty last night.
not finished yet as i am sure roy will see the bits unfinished
new wheels,twin exhaust,roof bars,new vw badges front and rear, rear window stickers,new plates,and logo on side lol!!!
need to re-do the graphics as printer has run out of ink and not printed the black very well.

 

will look cool with the air cooled graphics in the coca cola style writing on it mate.
and the surf girl with the tattoo!

Its 1.18 scale has opening doors, bonnet, back door, flip screen, now i was going to mod it but found out there quite rare and now ive chickened out I thought i'd ask on here if anyone fancied swapping it for a 1.18 defender 90? Its been out of the box once.I'd rather swap it than sell it hence asked on here first.

 

Any one want to make me an offer on this, before it go's on the bay?

its a bit rough it started life as a 1.6 sport with cossack doors and boot lid (which donest fit properly as they are different castings the bonnet is a filed down minichamps sierra cosworth one and the engine, exhaust and gearbox also come from the sierra it also has resn super light wheels and painted signal amber

 

I like the RS2000 matey.

 

Well im finished with the milliput on the 1700T, ive still got loads of sanding to do but after that im going to put some filler on some parts like the bonnet and the sunroof as they arnt completely smooth. I got the dremel out today and done the holes in the bonnet took about an hour to do but im happy with the outcome. Ive got to fit a bigger engine in it yet.

your right it need redetailing i think the ptonlem i had whilst doing it ages ago was that minichamps announced they were doing one and i guess i though mine will never be as good so i rushe to finish it

 

its a solido , nice details but only the rear door opens .the interiout is a bit plain but seing as the doors dont open it doesn't notice .its coming along ,just got to get a t2 now to sit next to it...
the secret might get treated to some more putty tonight....iam taking my time with it as i want to get it right.

 

both are looking very good my 1700t is rwd im using a sutar mk2 base and suspension it also gives me the north / south engine mounting too

Cracking looking 1700T's .Finished fitting my extra shelves into my Ikea cabinet's & added more model's.

 

Yeah they are gmp wheels, they are great quality.
Had to fit smaller tyres and grind them down as they were bloody wide to begin with.
Might respray it when i got time but will have to stay standard colours for the time being..
I won the wheels on a auction a couple of months ago.

 

Thats why its going, no space.

I lack space for all my models aswell. Doesnt help that I still live at home (24 a few weeks ago). Parents have said no to ripping out the spare room and having floor to celing cabinets, similar to jason_nikes fantastic collection

that maybe a bad move as there was some on uk ebay not long ago & they measured 40mm which are abit big 1/18 models.

 

They were only £5.13 posted for 2 sets which isnt too bad if they are too big. Can always put them back on eBay

 

yeah i thought of using mk2 but i desided to use the mk3 floor,still need to make up some linkage for the rear,x-member for the front & fill in were the spare wheel was.
