why do these sell for so much money ???
i know there rare but dont you agree the detail on them is shockingly poor compared to most other cheaper models you can buy like the sierra rally cars.
the road versions i have given away in the past there that bad.

 

i agree mate but were else do you get iconic escort cosworth rally cars in 1/18

 

the escos is being re-released soon, just hope theyve made A LOT of improvements, ie - everything

latest project i have been doing for a friend of mine .
lightly flared arches , and a little something special on the rear end!


still got plenty of bodywork left to do as this has got to be perfect.
all made to his own spec , will have a custom yb cossie lump , rs 4 spokes , front lip spoiler , and aluminium exhaust. full custom sign writing.
but the real difference is at the back , custom hand built rear end with openning doors.
well chuffed with this so far!

if i were you mate i would put them back in there boxes and put them in a safe for 20 years , nice retirement present there....lol
as i said i know there rare my brother has the full collection i will steal one day , he also had the real road car version few years back ,but maybe its just me that thinks you dont get a lot for your money with them.

even the handle will be in the right place.

just the roof tip you see on the back which gives it the right shape and the uprights with the door jams and hinges , these have been transplanted on to rear end then blended with the frame i made as the shape was not perfect on the traveler . well spotted though mate
broke my heart to cut up a traveler aswell but that will be rebuilt in to something soon .
i made sure i copied all the donor parts aswell because the travelers can be tricky to find .
have started to make a kit to convert the mk1 in to a van like this one .

 

the moggy back end looks good mate will take some sanding to get them doors working well good luck you must have lots of spare time

a collection worth having mate , know what you mean about the escorts as i love fords but would never go out of my way to buy them even if they were the same price as the mk2 rally cars . honestly dont know why.
did you shift the mk1 rally car you had listed?
want one of them to complete my standard mk1 collection its the only one missing from it.

they work mate , just got to get them primered tomorrow and ill stick a pick up there tricky to paint as the doors are casted in clear as i wanted the transparent glass effect for the window's so have got to mask them up properly or will have to recast them again
