Unhappy insuring a brabus merc, how expensive is it?!?!?!!?

so here's the deal:

my mate has a brabus tuned 2013 merc gl350, it's worth in the region of around £60k, but insuring it is a nightmare as most companies won't touch it and those that do are quoting him in the region of £6-7k

i'm not sure if he has business miles on it but he's only done around 9k in the year or so he's had it

all the quotes he's had state that he lives in a postcode where merc's are the most stolen cars so how do i find out if this is true or not?

and are the figures he's been quoted a reasonable ballpark figure for a UB postcode price tag?

Thats the thing i dont get about southall. When i lived in london most criminals kept a low profile then used to visit my brother in southall and no one batted an eyelid at dodgy shit going on.

im surprised with it in the open the met police didnt have a field day and raid the place to hell or would they not do that out of fear of being accused of targeting a minority group/area?

if you google map southall police station, there is a house that backs onto it where a good few years ago they raided it and found so much dodgy stuff it made the national news

Surely if you can afford to fork out for a brabus you can insure it too?

Dojj, a UB postcode is one of the highest risks in the UK. I should know, I used to have two.

that's not the point, paying £7k to insure a merc is ridiculous when he was only paying £4k for his porshe cayenne turbo

but how come i can insure BOTH my cars for less than £650? ok, so they are probably only work 5% of the merc's value but paying 1000% more?

Nothing funny Dojj, check for yourself. The UB postcode is extremely high.
