Traders insurance wtf?
I have just cancelled my trade insurance as bizarrely all my personal vehicles which are named on the policy (fully comp) aren't insured when they are parked within 400metres of my workshop!.
Personally I've never heard of anything so ridiculous but after a phone call I've been told its normal practice on traders policies now so figured a few of you might want to double check the small print in your trade policies just incase.
I was with crowthorn brokers and the policy was underwritten by Service insurance co (just incase that rings any bells for you)
I'm now going through the rigmarole of sorting temporary cover on 4 vehicles whilst trying to find another trade policy.

Also heard a few are now no longer insuring any cars with any modifications, and it might not say it on your certificate so worth double checking. Last thing you want is making a genuine claim to find out your insurance was null and void!

You can usually tell a carp traders policy by the cost
if its less than 3k then you have a cheap policy that has so many loop holes you wouldnt believe
As said above , they are starting to clamp down on people who have trade policies who arnt real motor traders ( not saying you arnt as i dont know you ) but if you get a " real " trade policy you can have the correct cover
Another " get out " is that most done notice that your tarde vehicles , listed as trade , arnt covered out of working hours , and your personal vehicles arnt covered during working hours
this is there to stop people who have a trade policy just so they can have cars insured that they normaly couldnt cover ,
there are hundreds of little loop holes
Another way to tell dodgy policies is who you are insured with , ie, im with Royal sun alliance , a very well known company , if you have never heard of your company that should set alarm bells ringing
