Default 1000 miles a year policy

Ived had a quote on my focus, its a focus with focus rs running gear ect
I set a value of 16k on the car and a 1000 miles a year, I only want the insurance to get me to trackdays and shows (not covering me on track) Im 22 and the cars garaged and has a group a snap off steering wheel.

I got quoted £2310 this seems a bit high, Any other companys that would cover me on this type of policy?

cheers

thats what i thought, but its maybe majorly modified in some way and the guy wants the money back for his mods if it goes missing.frs's have came down in value recently i have noticed.

fair enough if the insurance is willing to pay out for that as its the ONLY way you will get your money back for the mods but if they are comparing that to a normal or lightly modded rs then thats probably whats driving the price up so much.

true, the cost of the mods does add up you you would never sell your car for that much in a million years because it is worth far less.

however, should god forbid the worse ever hapen like scum nicking it and burning it out if your insurance company are willing to accept that value then thats the only way your ever going to get your money back for it.

as for the high premium, the area you live in has a MASSIVE effect on it. thats why i'm glad i'm in a low crime area as i'm saving a good few hundred quid compared to other areas.

Looks lovely.....but not even being an RS, 16k is way over valued irrespective of how much you've spent getting it there!
I'm not saying you have to drop the value (is it agreed though) but why not try insuring it for half that and see how much the premium drops by?
Only being 22 though and driving a 16k car the insurance is never gonna be cheap sadly!
Might end up cheaper trailoring it to trackdays if that's all you do with it.

Yer mate that was an agreeed value, as if the worse was to happen thats what i would like back! but like you said i will either have to drop the value to get the insurance that im willing to pay, or as you say trailer it round for a few more years!
