Default insurance question

if your 25+ and are fully comp then most companies will insure you 3rd pft on other peoples vehicles as long as their fully comp and you have their permission and it states that you can on your insurance policy. what i want to know is. are there any companies that do the same for people under 25 as im only 21 but having this type of cover would be really useful. any info would be great.

cheers craig

I can drive any other car that is not in my name aslong as it is insured by someone else, taxed and mot'd. Im 22 and this is through the classic insurance on my second car. I know Bell Insurance offer this option at an additional charge.
All depends on the company and underwriter.

Very few companies do it. The companies that did offer it have had their fingers burnt as it gets abused (eg insure a 1.0 L Corsa, drive an Impreza) so have withdrawn it.

as sky insurance bloke says.

As per usual idiots have ruined it for everyone.

although i dont know what the justification for removing "agreed value" policies by a lot of insurers was about??? nothings been released about horrendous claims historys on agreed value schemes. just pangs of greed in the insurance industry cutting a product that albeit specialist was in demand just to save a few pennies on the offchance theres a few total loss claims on agreed value policys.

not that im cynical

If my company is anything to go by, it's the administration involved as well as fraudulent claims. A lot of customers take the mick when it comes to their agreed value price and refuse to except their car is not with the price they are demanding, it involves a lot of work to try and find a happy medium for the cusrtomer and the underwriter of the agreed value policy.
