Default Classic Insurance help!

How old does a car need to be before it qualifies for classic insurance?? all i know is once its a classic i should be free tax. ive heard its 15... ive heard 30.... lol i cant find a concrete answer! anyone know?

tax exempt dont exist any more m8 only if it was already exempt when they changed it an classic policies are dependant on wot car it is an wot company u use, mine states RS=10yrs xr/st=15yrs standard models=20yrs i use a company called footman james an is only £122 a yr fully comp

aww... ive only another 5 years to wait then lol but then again if it was 15 years for standared cars to qualify then thered be friggin loads of cars on classic insurance. Was just wondering as the cheap insurance is appealing and i could have an early fiesta or escort as my next prject. cheers mate

think some classic insurers impose age rescritions aswell pal,i had to be 25 to put my saff on classic,and when i was 21 they wouldnt put a b reg xr4i i had on classic.

u also have to bear in mind most classic policies have a low milage limit mine is 5k a yr

I cud just disconnect the speedo linkage when it gets to 4999.5 miles? lol You know the way an RS is only 10 years on the footman james policy, i wonder if i bought the RS badge n stuck it on the back would i qualify for classic insurance... hmm if only lol

i had my 1st rst at 19 an was payin nearly £2800 for the 1st yr
