My Dads old mechanic used to race one, everytime the firebrigade had a surpluss sale, Dad used to let the chap know as the old hand carry portable pumps used a tuned climax engine, almost all had low use too.
Nice to see that, my Mum's first car was an IMP and a friend of ours has a very nice tidy one, we went to the national IMP rally few years back, was good day out. Best of luck with the restoration.
Thanks for the replays guys

Hi I had several back in the day when you could buy a good one for Ł250
I had a singer Chamois ( Posh Imp)
IT was lowered on hartwell springs and had 175x12 Rallye specials
Went round corners like it was on rails
Cibie diping oscars on it
Fun times
I had the one also with the slopped back called the stiletto, had a twin 40 on it was way cool back then and now, its the time in-between that was sneered at lol
Great fun cars! I had a white stileto as my first car. After owning it for quite a few years and seeing about 4 engines and a gearbox and many many driveshaft donuts, it ended up a 938cc with lightened and balanced crank, skimmed and big valve head and sport cam, a twin choke webber off a escort and a 4 branch exhaust manifold. Used to rev off the tacho over 8000 rpm! was a lot of fun lol
