No claims bonus (tony @ greenlight?)
In August last year I had to insure a heavily modified car so I took the 2 years ncb off my daily driver ( 1 month before my 3rd year) so I could get it insured to get to Germany, I started a new policy on the daily driver and as of friday I would have a year on that policy.
The nova insurance I had running was ended in June this year so I never gained any ncb through that policy.
As I had 2 years ncb before I started my daily driver insurance I should be on 3 years this time round although they would need adding together, obviously I'm not trying to add 2 years ncb that I earnt in the same year but as they were earnt in seperate years I can't see the problem.
Edited :
Just been on the phone to Churchill and they weren't having it and even worse they trippled the online quote for having a set of wheels, stainless exhaust and some lowering springs !
My quote on confused.com was for me with 2 years ncb, standard car and came out at £430, they just quoted me £1500+ over the phone inc the above mods !!

Think hes on holiday?
I dont know him but there was a longish thread last week about a member being told to bugger off because they have to go home or something, leaving him without insurance over the weekend, so he went with someone else.
Thats not the exact story but along those lines

Looking through the Audi forums Greenlight seem the people to use, you can't actually speak to anyone though and in this case I really need too.
I refuse to pay anything near a grand, the car will be sold if it comes to it

I wouldn't hold your breath matey.
I had a policy with greenlight and wanted to insure a second car as a daily.
Greenlight agreed as i had a car with them they would match the no claims on the second as an intro.
Now the cos insurance ran out about 6months or so ago and was not continued due to the car being off the road but been told ncb lasts a couple of years.
The second policy ended recently so i renewed as there price was best but asked if they still had record of my no claims for the cos to which the response was i only had one lot of no claims not 2 so will have to start from zero no claims with a very heavily modified car, where did my no claims go???
Who knows.

Hi Penguin,
Just noticed your post and would like to look into this for you.
If your vehicles have ran their term (ie 12m +) and you havent presented a non-recoverable claim you would be entitled to an NCB increase.
We track absolutely everything to safeguard and back our customers positions with their respective Insurer, so this should be something that I can easily resolve for you.
To start the ball rolling, would you please PM me your actual name, postcode and date of birth to enable me to trace your record and get things back on track for you.
Kind regards
Tony
NB. You would be able to use your NCB up to 2 years post expiry with all Underwriters that we use, which is also the industry standard term for NCB acceptance.

Hi JB,
Just seen your post and will look to help if we can.
We do specialise in covering performance and modified cars, so should be able to get involved even if its purely for the modified car.
The situation, which will be the same for most Underwriters in relation to NCB is that you would have to earn NCB on each specific policy when covering separate vehicles.
Thus when accruing NCB, the most likely situation will be that you have 1 year upon one of your vehicles and two years on the other.
The industry standard process for this would be that you couldnt add the two together to make three years.
What we tend to do in this situation (providing you have a reasonable record) would be to mirror/enhance the percentage discount of the higher NCB to both policies, but to leave the years to accrue in the same way (ie. 35% 1 year NCB would become 45% 1 year NCB where it can be proven that you have clearly been a capable driver and earned 45% 2 years NCB on your other vehicle).
I'm fairly convinced from what you have posted that we could help you, so if you still need a hand with this simply PM me, or pop a quotation application onto www.greenlightinsurance.com then PM me may be the best route.
Kind regards
Tony
