Default Swift Cover Insurance - Avoid!

as per title, a lot of insurance questions are being asked at the mo, so ill tell you my little story

the missus had the puma insured with them last year, in august a lorry drove into the side of the car at a roundabout and smashed mirror/dented front wing.

now, since that time, they have done FUCK ALL in trying to sort it out, she had a witness etc and it was clearly not her fault.

anyway, renewal was last friday and not only did they want almost £200 more to insure her, they have also knocked off 2 years no claims - and technically she hasnt claimed as they are too fucking useless to sort it out!

on the phone, they are also useless twats (admitted only sending letter to the witness last week, and even then they thought it was a witness in favour of the of the lorry driver...)

so avoid the uselss cunts as much as you would rainbird with a hardon!

rant over, carry on.

Oh Bollocks I'm with them as they had the best price!
I gotta admit there is something about that company that seems too good to be true...

I had a policy with them a few years ago, I had enough trouble just trying to cancel it, they wanted to have a copy of my new insurance documents so they could make sure the car was still insured etc. Told them to get foooked and refund my money.

Dan, cool.

so, can you answer me this?

is insurance just a fucking big con?

lad i know is 17, not long passed his test and got a newish shape fiesta, only a 1.1 or 1.2 or something. now, his insurance is fucking unreal, and the twat just stuck a set of alloys ont hat cost him £800 - the ins co want an additional £600 for the pleasure - how fuck can they justify that?

anyway, my real question is can you insure modified cars cheaply with a 3k annual milage? my 3dr is slightly modifed over standard, but i still wouldnt expect to pay more than £400/500 for a year.

Not if you use the right people mate

I don't know how they can justify that, for the small amount of modded cars that we've done over the years we've never charged anything like that for a set of wheels or anything else! Who is his insurer?

Unfortunately mate we don't insure highly modified cars, not even 'slightly' modified like your 3dr!

i think you need to rethink your policies and insure cars with different engines, four and bit time the power as standard, roll cages and bucket seats lol

Luke!

Dan, i'd love to mate as i'd do the Saph and Series 1 at work! PMSL The insurer's are coonts to set things up with, to set a scheme up you have to have minimum level's of support, gaurantee them fucking all sorts, not worth pissing around with!

I'd be much happier insuring RS's/Modded cars etc, much more up my street!

I sold a car last year and was insured with them.I then cancelled my policy and got refunded difference as i payed up front then as i had another car insured with them i went online to check something and all of a sudden the car i sold has a claim against it for a crash that never happened!! I contacted them and said WTF's going on here and explained all to them and they said yeah we'll get it sorted out and still to this day 6 months on fuck all has happened!!!!
