Default New hoop & Chassis mods Adrenaline Race & Performanc

Went to Adrenaline Race & Performance to have my hoop fitted.
Very subtle its just what i asked for & a Top-class job. Tight fit & hugs the pillars & is keyed in to the seat belt point.

Took there advice & fitted rails & connectors under the car to stop chassis Flex. im sure Danny will explain what hes done but have had some fun today to find the cars limits cos it deffo feels more ' planted' glad i listened Danny, im sure Mark will notice a big difference .

Good service, lots of tea, but more important Knowledge of this type of modifications. Thanks lads, if i had not just cleaned it would be going out for another blast.

Adrenaline Race & Performance Ltd 01933 315191
www.adrenaline-race.com

was dark when i took the pics but think it shows the fit & subtle nature of the install.

this does exactly what rod has asked for. It tie's into the seat belt mounting points on the B-posts so will not be going forward or backwards but IF it went on its roof it would LIMIT the chances of the roof crushing the driver. Rod did NOT want other bars and this is alot safer than nothing

Glad you see an improvment from the floor rails too Rod, this would benifit any saph,3door or even escort cossie in the handling department with 300+bhp.

I can understand that Danny, and appreciate its done to what the customer wanted.

But unfortunatly cars don't land square plumb on their roof when they roll....

Please people don't let things like that become the norm.... we should all be advising the customers further in this situation IMHO.

That EXACTLY what I thought when I looked at it earlier- I didn't comment as I might have been wrong as I'm no expert.

I can understand the customer requirements and I am sure it is better than nothing.

I hope you never have to test its extra strength- especially at any significant speed.

The customer wanted nothing, and advised that a full cage was needed, please dont tell me what I should and should not be doing. I am perfectly happy with main hoop and how ever it lands it will be more help than hinderance, in this cse when a car is going to do 200mph with or without cage this option is far better than nothing which is what rod was set on. I will not be offering this as an everday product as it isn't, and if I felt it wasn't up to the job then I would not of fitted it to a car that I know is going to be used on its LIMITS.
I've watch driver crash cars and I've also been in one myself so fully aware of how cars roll.

Anyway back to rods post.

Nice and subtle install Rod
Top work Danny
I removed the underbody braces on the GTR to have them enamelled and felt a marked difference [detrimental] in handling without them.
I know where I am going for my cage

that looks spot on to me as the car is not a stripped out lightweight race car but a very powerful and tastfully done road car with certain safety precautions

this is an area very under estimate by people, they all fit stiff shocks great brakes but the 15year old body just bends around them

Cam look forword to your call I've cut a a couple of skylines now and filled them with tube work.

That hoop will offer very minimal protection.

...not a diss to Danny at all he done what was asked and will be a fantastic job.

Rod you need a full WRC type job or nothing at all ...Martin H crashed at 100 mph plus no doubt and look at the state of the car...they walked due to proper cage, seam welding etc ..basically a proper WRC spec....if yours crashes it will be at a lot faster with just a roll over bar...you WILL be killed no ifs no buts...do it once do it PROPERLY (I thank Billy boy for that comment!)

That is one of the shittest things you have ever said......and that is saying something

Yes the hoop wont work as well as a WRC cage.....but it WILL help a little, which is EXACTLY what Rod wanted and EXACTLY what Danny gave him

Odd...I thought it was one of the most sensible posts I've ever seen from Phil! There is no way I'd go in a car driven regularly at over 200mph without a proper roll cage!!

Although i fully realise you are an expert on all things Phil, please dont compare what i do with my car, with what Martin was doing when he crashed cos they dont compare. The hoop in my car has been done once & done properly.
Will try to keep the wheels on the black-bit so as not to cause you any more anxiety.

I've seen the car, the hoop is in there real nice, and it will do more than nothing but obviously not as good as the full climbing frame.

Bear in mind it's still a full 4 seater and Rod's no spring chicken!

Martin, I can see your point though, you wouldn't be here if it wasn't for your cage!

Danny - you need to buy some underseal mate

Rod, did both my jobs work out???

it may not be up to the job if rolled etc....but its better than nt having anything.

i have been advised to fit a roll cage in my car( not sure why. ) but my car is a road car that will do the odd tack day and i don't want a proper cage in mine just for the sake of the odd track day.

Rods is better than nothing imho.

I would have fitted at least a full cage
One hoop at 200+ mph roll aint going to do shit
Not a dig at Danny as i have seen what he is capable of
Im sure Danny would have wanted to fit a more substansial cage but
its the customers car at the end of the day
I have also fitted the strengtheing bars under my car and they do make a difference even to a 32 year old shell.

How much are you looking at for a welded cage that you could leave all the seats in with in a saff plz danny??
Rod, I think you should appreciate that from what I can see Phil has genuine concerns about a fellow PF member, I can see his point and martins, but its your car and your decision, but even if you are the best driver in the world, a 180MPh blow out or some tosser pulling out infront of you dosn't bear thinking about , and I know everyone drives fast and most don't have a cage. Anyway, nice car nice cage, be fookin careful mate

Just an idea but I would imagine a skilled person like Danny could fabricate a full cage which would be almost impossible to see in the car anyway??

Something similar to certain TVR's have? They are usually trimmed up etc....

The A post sections would be fabbed very close to the pillars and then trimmed. The roof section could be trimmed into the roof lining etc...etc...I'm sure it could be done!

..that is Gods honest truth Rod......you and Mark need proper safety,ok maybe not yourself so much being closer to death (no disrespect but you seen more life so can take more risks now)....i recall mark telling me never again after the first 200mph...but of course adrenalin is the most powerful of all drugs...either cut off his legs or think proper cage.....but then dont listen to me i dont know anything except for trying to stay alive hence my very chilled days now...you dont know whats round that next corner...and beleive me you dont want to meet your maker just yet.

Sorry Rod, but even with my limited knowlage of safety devices if thats just bolted into the floor and seatbelt mountings I dont really see how thats gonna help protect you at high speed

Granted its better than nothing, but still I think you should have taken dannys advice on it and fitted something a bit more substantial....
