Rod i am glad you have done this, i do believe your car should have a proper cage because your life is far to valuable to your family to worry about astetics and how it looks, there are very few cars in the country capable of doing what yours does because of the level of development in it to make it go far faster then was originally planned,

When I spoke to Rod, he said he only had it done as he was getting wheel hop/tramp from the NSR wheel at high speed. It was only done to improove shell stifness.

Then we found the long M12 bolt that holds the rear beam in was broke

It may have caused the odd behavior and saved on having the bar and frame conectors fitted.

Nice Rod!!! get the rest of the cage set up fitted.

I know about the connectors cause some of us use them on our XR's here, and I'm going to get it done to the cossie aswell.

They are also DESIGNED to go 200mph + easily.

They have aerodynamics designed and suited to do it and its well within their limits. They have active systems that change the ride height, angles of attack, levels of downforce, levels of damping etc etc... The tyres are designed for that speed as well.

Its a VERY different thing to doing 210 mph in an old Saff that was designed to do 150mph max!

we didn't have time, Rod had me working at full speed!

your welcome to book your car in mike and then we'll take pics

this is what Rod told me about the differents yesterday: from a standard car you fit strut braces and coil overs and the car feels great and like its on rails but then you get used to it, Now his car has strut braces and good coil overs on it that he's used to he thought thats going to be as good as it gets, We fitted the chassis mods last week and he came back yesterday after his testing and says it feels like he's just fitted coil overs and strut braces all over again! The car turns in alot sharper and handles alot more power out of the bends. overall he was very happy.

Danny,
Just do a search under Dave's name, and you'll find that 99.9% of his posts just consist of the following: "Pics or STFU"

Basically I'm strengthening between the front chassis legs onto the rear chassis legs and this offer alot more support around the rear beam area and also limiting flex in the floor pan. this helps keep optimum pressure on each wheel during braking and cornering so in turn offers better grip and braking.

Its difficult to take pictures of the chassis mods even I cant stand up under the car to take them . Car will be up on ramps at the weekend for final fettling before Mag shoot, if my 60 year old brain remembers i will take some picts.
Cheers Rod.
ps. Mods work well & cage looks good , only penalty an increase of noise transferred inside the car, which means another 50kgs of sound deadening .

For the frame connectors the price is Ł264.50+vat fitted.
although we do require the carpet to be removed as these are a weld in item, this can be done by us but at an extra charge.
The total weight is approx 2kgs so shouldn't effect performance to much.

There is a Trade price also for a VAT registered companies.

We dont run such crap quarters, I took a uk car with me crew chief and we raced against American's ,Canadians and 3 other britts, We won the event We just dont have as many fast UK cars so it seems most of them are slow, doesn't mean we cant though

Danny

We = most people, i know there are some folks like you who know what they are doing, but if you look at the times a 400bhp rwd saph runs ON AVERAGE in this country and compare it to what a daily driven RWYB yank car of a similar spec would typically do due to the fact they take chassis mods seriously over there you must surely see my point?
