Trade or fleet policies must list every vehicle that is to require cover. They have done since about 2003

no thats not for all trade policys,,,,,,,,,, theres various types and if you buy a car you car use it on the trade policy BUT it wont be on it

i think the law should insure cars based on YOU not the car,,,,,, make it fair imo

you want insurance upto what ever cc in what ever car,,,,,,,,, thats the fair option,,,,,,,,, why have 3 policys for 3 cars when you can only drive one at once

this way there wont be people driving evo's on there mini policys ect to

but also is cheeper for the fair drivers at the same time

just my opinion anyway,,,,,,,, sure its gona loose em money so they wont

EU 4th directive says fleet policy holders must keep their insurer informed of all vehicles requiring cover.

sorry guys but the idea is a good one that is to get rid of old shite,,,,,,, then its gonna be like the car tax rules where there gonna sting the inocent people for not following the rules even though there cars not been on the road

If you had to inform the insurer,if you kept a car for over 14 days, the trade would go crackers !! Most trade cars are 'in stock' for considerably longer than that!! Also,on the trade policies that I've had,I've not seen any mention of this clause.

Also,re this 'crushing cars' thing,I think the government / authorities are just being downright childish ! I have seen some of these cars crushed and all they do,is just rip the engine/box out, then crush the rest.
What happened to the 'eco friendly' disposal of scrapped cars ?? All the good useable ones should be sent to auction!

I know traders who ahve been caught out, and got done for not having insurance when driving various cars.

Yes it is a pain, but it is also true. I have a trade policy, and I knew nothing about this 4th directive until 2004. So basically in 2003 I probably never had any cover, and I knew nothing about it.

For such a major change, there was very little information about it. I now have forms to fill in to notify my insurer about vehicles I need covered..

You could claim the vehicle in question has been in your posession for less than 14 days, which is a get out clause in a sense. But do be careful.
