just got my home pc back on broadband after having to replace the old HD and reinstall windows and all the drivers etc.

i'm in the middle or setting it up and re-installing software for my pda, phone etc

just wondering if anyone knows of any sites, where you can get usefull software for free etc, i have downloaded some anti virus stuff, but would like screensavers and software etc, as i lost all my old stuff, as i only backed up my documents.

Make sure you have Macromedia Flash installed so that anims and flash websites work;

Don't forget the usuals too like winrar - adobe acrobat etc - google brings up alot of downloading sites for them

 

Fuck, forgot about them WinRAR much better than WinZip

And for Adobe Acrobat (PDF) reader, I would get version 7 instead of version 9, if all you use it for is reading PDF's as it takes up less space and is quicker.... But if your a hardcore PDF reader/user/creater/etc then go for v9 - free downloads all over the net.. Google is your friend

 

I use Adobe Acrobat Acrobat 6 Professional mainly for work stuff so when I scan something in on our copier, I can edit it as a .pdf file

WinRAR offers better compression for zipping stuff up. Winzip is peice of piss to use.

I may well setup an FTP site soon
