Default Esc Cos Wheel Bearing - £180 to replace ??

Whats an average price to have a rear wheel bearing replaced on an Esc cos, just been quoted £180 !!, is that about right ??

Taking into account labour prices for joe public who walks in off the street, yeah..................depends where you go though.....

£180, Id want a set of four for that. get em in the motor factors for about £35 quid each

£180 is including labour and using gen ford bearings, just want to know I aint being scammed!!

Are there two bearings per side ??, i bought one pack ages ago and have two bearings, the garage said genuine bearings would last longer.

IMO seems abit steep....

Bearings arnt hard to change with a decent press id estimate that a compitant mechanic can change one in an hour or so.

£50 Bearing £50 labour tops.

So if they were doing two would they want £360 ??

we charge 90 quid a hour PLUS vat on our jobs and the bearings are 50 quid each so its about right


hence why i fit mine meself

were talking book times though,,,,,, what about if the brake disc is seized on the hub ect you need to take into account that ( cant belive im defending it )

I don't mind paying it, just thought it was a bit pricey !!..........obviously it sounds about right !!

Never had a disc seize on a cossy yet fella,very rarely get probs on the rear end..


Oh and BTW the bearings Matt Lewis sells are the same as OEM(Timken)

yeah al of matt lewis's stuff is ONLY top notch stuff,,,,,,,,,, he dont sell shite and is a credit to the car industry


the seized disc was a example,,,,,,,,,, and cause i helped a mechanic at work remove a brake disc the other week that we had to hammer off and it snapped ect

had to then chisel the hub face to remove the rest of it


thank fuck on the 8th day god invented dia brake disc coatings

ive seen a few disc's stuck on,what about all the coroded bolts as well!!
