Default BIG BHP or a sequential?

...been thinkin....for the experts only of course..which we ALL are

Say i just ran a T38 for a solid 440bhp on greys with anti lag...but added a sequential gearbox.....Would this be better than a fixit kit and 630bhp no anti lag?

Because dog engagement gearboxes (if that is the sort of sequential you are thinking of), don't like changing gear unless under load. They are also invariably straight cut, which is MEGA noisey and it just becomes very tiring.

The alternative is the Reland Skyline conversion, which uses an OS Giken sequential box, which is has helical gears. Supposed to be better in operation for "normal" driving, but the set-up still needs proving in Martin's car first .

The "best" bet would be swapping gearboxes over - one for road and one for track....

She told me, as I left my phone at home .

The OSG box takes getting used to and you have to alter your driving style esp anticipating downchanges for junctions etc. Around town its harder work than a syncromesh but once on open roads the ease of use outweighs the downsides. The speed of the shift is incredible.

What sequential boxes are out there that are able to handle high BHP? 500 - 600+?

Thanks

Jamie,
The only choice really is the Skyline set up that Martin has in his car .

Sequential all the way for me I'm affraid even for road use.

Straight cut isn't that bad for me in higher gears.

At the end of the day its a sports car not a luxary tourer

Only one long lasting solution for rwd Cossie that is used mainly as a Road car.
7years/35k & cant break-it even with Mega Horses, so ring up Brom. If its 4x4 a visit to Martin makes sense.
