The alternative is the Reland Skyline conversion, which uses an OS Giken sequential box, which is has helical gears. Supposed to be better in operation for "normal" driving, but the set-up still needs proving in Martin's car first

The OSG box takes getting used to and you have to alter your driving style esp anticipating downchanges for junctions etc. Around town its harder work than a syncromesh but once on open roads the ease of use outweighs the downsides. The speed of the shift is incredible.
