Default 4WD MT75 to 2WD MT75????

Is a 2WD MT75 box a direct swap for a cosworth 4WD MT75??

Are there any differences in the bell housing? Starter motor position perhaps?

Cheers,

Doug.

Does the T5 sap much more power than the MT75?

The MT75 case splits in the middle. What you need to do is take the 4WD MT75 front case (which incorporates the Bellhousing) and mate it to a RWD MT75 gearbox/rear case. It's a bolt-off/bolt-in affair. Make sure you swap the speedo sensor module from your 4WD unit. It's a simple as that. Reuse your old stuff (e.g. starter, clutch, etc.)

well actually, thinking about it

a 2wd one will bolt on, but where the bolts affix into the sump it will differ to a 4wd version - the rest will be the same - ie, starter, block bolt holes etc etc

So would a regular 2WD MT75 from a DOHC I4 fit a 4x4 Cossie that is being converted to RWD?

From the answers above, it would seem the answer is a definate yes.

Best bit is it shouldn't cost you over 100 quid from a breakers.

best thing to do is get the shit plate (the plate between the gearbox and engine) from both 2 and 4wd I4 engines and line them up together - see the bolt pattern differences at the sump then
