Default Well My Mates ASBO Lasted Long

Mate of mine picked up his ST3 yesterday.

And took it straight back this morning with the air-bag warning light on.

indeed i did! WHo are you Poom? It's all sorted now, it's a harness under the passenger seat which had snagged when some big lump go in the rear seats, the harness was routed wrong, the dealer sorted it out straigth away and i was hoonin again at 10am. Looks like the seat harness for the side airbag was routed wrong on build, no biggy. I commence my fault finding nd durability runs! ;op Really pleased with the car! Burns in Congleton are a fantastic dealer who i'd recommend to anyone!

He was out and about about in it until 1am this morning. He took it easy coming home to let it all cool down and parked it at his GF's place. His GF mum came home about 30mins later and asked him why the gate at the bottom of the drive was open and his car parked across it.

The car had rolled off down the drive and hit the gate and post, sadly the post was meer inches off the support bar in the bumper and it's ruined the bumper, the boot lid, one quarter panel and it looks like the exhaust and other quarter panel needs looking at.

He has still got the Mk1 Astra and it was featured in Total Vauxhall recently

Pics of it are all here

He checked the handbrake and it was still up, looks like the rear discs may have contracted but it seems odd to do it in 30mins. He's going to talk to his dealer about it because he feels it shouldn't do that.

Indeed it does now need a bit of work doing to it unfortunaltey, i've still got the mk1 astra which is sat tucked away at the moment an hasn't moved for a while!
As for the ST it'll be going into the nearest ford approved repair centre, i'll be speaking to the dealer and yes it appears it might all have slackened off as it cooled down. i normall yleave it in gear but this time i didn't as i let the ca rdiel while i closed the gate then just turned it off. I also had my wheels locked th opposite way to normal, it would merely have nudge into the curb six inches away had it gone the other way! Oh well shit happens, some pics of it can be found here.

http://www.lowandwide.net/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=1901

if you look at the top pic it was parked in the same place with the wheels locked the otherway and the gate post in question can be sen at the right of the pic!

There is probably something in the owners manual about "correct procedure when applying the handbrake" it is indeed due to the discs cooling down

i've absolutley no doubt there is, and i'm fairly sure it's just going to be the insurance that sorts it out.

Ouch.

Looks good in black..well mucky black
Any pics of it clean ? More of a 'sleeper' in black as it's understated in comparison to the orange one

well i don't have pics of it clean at the minute i'm affraid, i'll get some slapped u when it's back from the body shop the middle of next week.
doesn't need a new 1/4 panel thankfully! The Ka is painfully slow an shite lol. As for still having a sense of humour, i didn't at the time but it's only a car and if you can't see the funny side of it or at least take it on the chin then it's give up time! It's just my new black car curse or the karma gods taking revenge for the things i've got away with in the passed!
