mondeo problem
i have a mk 1 1800cc petrol mondeo
it drives absolutly fine
except every now and again and will keep stalling, does it when cold, when hot, its just completly random
then it will just clear itself and run perfect again
is there anything i should be checking, i have been over the car and its all as should be nothing lose or wires broke/disconected
not alot to go on i know but its me misses car and she is out at night in it, which i dont like

herd something simular happening on the 1.6 zetec the idle valve get stuck, its ment to be a really common problem.
someone posted up on here a few days ago with the same sort of problem theres was a link on how to fix it to.

also check/ clean the maf sensor, which is the alloy cylinder with the black plastic top in the inlet pipework,remove it then CAREFULLY clean the wire element with a cotton bud soaked in a carb cleaner

I had a similar problem on my '97 1.8 Mondeo. Taking the ISCV out and giving it a good clean up with carb cleaner helped for a few weeks then it started happening again. I sold the car before I replaced though.
You might want to check the plug gaps, if they are too big then it can cause the revs to drop too far when returning to idle before it picks up again. Also if it's on it's original leads chances are they are shagged by now.
