Default Oil Separator/ Breather??

Has anyone fitted a Bailey one of these to their small turbo Escort Cossie? Referring to the part in the fitting instructions about drilling the hole out of the top of the rocker cover, how did you tackle it as it says just to drill a 5/8 inch hole but looking down into the specified place where the hole has to be there is a step in the alloy casting so to drill a clean hole straight through would be impossible!! Has anyone come across this problem and if so, how did you get round it??!

Yeah I've got it off ready for drilling mate but like I say, when you look into the port where the hole needs to be drilled it's got a step in it so you won't be able to drill it neat & clean

why would you need to as the small t model has the most advanced breather system of any of the yb engined cosworths, if the engine is in good condition then it wll not need it.. the original is fine

unless you have modded it to big T spec, and boost is above 20psi ish
then you may need to go for an aftermarket kit, but not all of them breath from the top so picking one that doesn't saves drilling the cover..

That looks to be the problem I think Stu yeah, the instructions refer to a BIG turbo model in which case it would probably be a straight forward job At the bottom of the instructions it says "IF YOU ARE UNSURE ON ANY OF THE ABOVE POINTS, PLEASE CALL THE BAILEY MOTORSPORT HOTLINE" so I think this is what I'll be doing tomorrow to see what they say
