Default Insurance payout offers...

roughly how many times should you refuse the offer they give you?

Basically I've just been offered £900 for my bike and I get to keep it...

I'm tempted just to take it as its been dragging on for so long...

second offer is normally right but if it's giving you stick and you don't think you are going to get anymore.............

though i jumped at the offer they gave me on my saph because they were willing to pay me out £300 more than i paid for it 3 years previously

then they wanted to see the service history beacuse it only had 54k on the clock................

Few years back wrote off my cavalier gsi, cap valuation at the time was £3900, norwich union offered me £2100 less £300 excess, i refused. second offer was £2800 less my excess, i rang the loss adjuster who told me this was the final offer so i contacted the insurance ombudsman, after a few letters back and for got sent a cheque for £3600 (£3900 less my £300 excess). i will never give norwich union any more business

If you aint happy with what they offer keep on to them, if u still get no joy contact the ombudsman (the number should be in the back of your policy booklet).

I paid £1600 for it about a 18months ago and it was absolutely mint

I insured it for £1800 so £900 with £300 in spares is a bit of a piss take really I spose

I'm gonna refuse the first offer and try and get the spares value down to at least £200, I haven't got the space to be breaking a bike up and its still parked up by my old flat which I moved out of 3 months ago so it needs to be shifted quickly really!

I'd really like to see about £1200 from it so I can pay my parents back most of the £2k I borrowed off them for my new bike...

Anyone know where I can find out the book value of my bike?
